We recently rearranged out house and placed the xbox where there wasn't coax available. We were putting install off a bit. Now we may not with the Fios App on Xbox. All the channels the kids watch are on it. It's in HD, and it's convenient. There are also those out there who only have internet only with Fios. I assume this let them use their TV service with out getting Fios TV.

You'll never know until you try. One thing I am curious about, do you have your Xboxs boot right up to Media Center? Leaving your Xboxs on all the time is a huge energy hog (if that even concerns you). I'm wondering if you have the Xboxs boot right up to Media Center if it would be a little quicker (if you are using Xbox 360s, not sure if this works with the originals). I have a 360, but don't have a WMC PC to test with this. I'm holding out trying to get one of the newer Atom MOBOs to make a low energy power WMC.

This is exactly the set up I have. I have 1 Windows Media Center PC, 2x HD Homerun Prime (6 cable card tuners), 1x HD Homerun (2 tuners), and 5 Xboxes as extenders. The WMC PC stays in the basement and shares a monitor with my Windows Home Server. It's not using for viewing at all.

There were some growing pains at first as the Primes are new technology, but now that it's stable I absolutely love it. I have basically unlimited storage for recordings in my PC and my favorite feature is having one central guide and ToDo list.

If you want to watch TV the WMC needs to be on. Mine stays on 24/7, so I'm not familiar with putting the PC to sleep. From what I read, there are people that will put the machine to sleep and the xbox is able to wake it up. From a WAF point of view, I need to have the TV source "always on" and ready to be viewed as soon as the TV is powered on. The Xboxes stay on 24/7, too. Having to wait for the xbox to boot or for the PC to resume just wouldn't cut it with the rest of the family.

I've never had a FiOS set top box, so I don't know how my set up compares, but this is worlds better than what I had with DirecTV. I've been using WMC for years for music, videos, dvds, and pictures. The missing link was always live TV.

I like the new xbox dashboard features as well. The integration with FiOS doesn't get me anything I don't already have, though. I wish that the FiOS inegration was similar to what they're doing for Comcast, which seems to be offering their VOD through the xbox. That would be very cool.

Although between Netxflix, Hulu, and everything else, I have way more stuff to watch than time permits anyhow.

I assume that the reason you have a business data account is for a static IP. The easiest move would be to get rid of the business account and put everything on a residential triple play, but if you need to keep that for a static IP then you're looking at moving your TV also onto your business account in order to get it working - if it's worth the effort to you.

Just to let others know I didn't do anything on verizon.com to get the app working. I just went to epixhd.com and signed in (similar to HBOGO) with my verizon account and then got the code to enter into xbox. Similar to the Netlix authorize process. I try to avoid the verizon.com pages since they seem buggy and sluggish at best.

Also make sure you do not have any ad or popup blockers active when trying to register a device.

I have not had any issues with either of my Xbox's but I did everything through the epixhd site. I never use(d) the FIOS TV Central site.

One other point. I would delete and then re-install the app on the Xbox. This is a very important step if you were part of the new dashboard beta like I was.

I still have not been able to get this to work on any of my 360s. Epix does work properly on my Roku2.

Even though my 360s are in the device list, like my Roku2 is,

Go to www.epixhd.com, create an account (make sure you select your cable provider that provides you with EPIX), from the account page select add a device, select Xbox. There will be a 6 digit number displayed. Go to the EPIX app on the Xbox, select and start playing a movie, input the 6 digit code when prompted.

Two things to remember. First your cable provider must have agreed to the streaming side of EPIX just like HBOGO and MAXGO. Second you have to actually subscribe to EPIX with your cable provider.

Don't forget that U-Verse has been using the Xbox 360 as a full blown STB through Mediaroom for a year before Verizon rolled out this. So I guess you might say that Verizon is either the 2nd provider to stream live channels to the Xbox, or they are the first cable/non-IPTV provider to deliver live channels to a game system.

Either way this is a pretty big launch for them looking at it purely as an IPTV testbed. I really hope to see them launch VOD as well as the majority of channels to make this a potential standalone STB replacement.
