[DSL] Could any one of the techs here help me with the upgrade?

Have sent few DSL speed upgrade requests in the past weeks, but the progress seemed very slow and am not sure who will be on break the next day.. Could any one take a look into my account and see if my line is qualified for the 3Mbps upgrade. And would be appreciated if I can continue with the new customer price.

The moderator is probably tired of replacing account numbers here...so here is one of my ticket numbers long ago: 4510690(problem already solved), perhaps it's enough?

Thanks!

Hey, Jay123aaa.

I checked the account. As we've mentioned before, although you qualify for for 3 meg, your actual line readings are a bit borderline and indicate that the service may not work at that speed. It is possible that, after the upgrade, you could have some downtime. If that is the case, it may take a few days for us to to fix the issue on the line. Let me know if you would still like us to process the upgrade.

Yes, upgrade it anyway, but please place the upgrade date on next Monday, 12/19 as I do need the connection during the weekend.

Thanks! Way faster when working with posts here!

I'll send the upgrade request over to the billing department to get processed. Our billing department will need to contact you before placing the order. Expect a call early this week. Expect the change to occur within 3 business days of placing the order. If you want, you can call billing on Monday.

Haven't receive any call from DSLX yet, could someone take a look into the progress?

BTW, what information will the billing department need in order to process the order? If it's OK, I can just submit them all online so we don't have to deal with the crazy phone system which always cause all kinds of delay...Well, if it's really needed, please let them know to call my cell# instead of the home# associated with the DSL line.

Regards!

Hi Jay123aaa,

It looks like Steve was assisting you. As he is off until Thursday please feel free to send me with a PM with your account info and I would be happy to ensure someone follows up. Please include your cell phone number as well.

Thanks

Received a call and got the order placed, thanks for all helping!

Only one drawback was that the new customer promo had to be ended for signing up the 3Mbps upgrade. Well, actually I was initially signing up for 3M package back in Jun, but the order bounded back and said ATT didn't allow them to place the 3Mbpas package on my line...hence I have got the 1.5M.

Overall, provided the line could run stably at about 2~2.2Mbps and full 512Kbps, it would be still preferable in someway when comparing to the 3Mbps DSL or U-verse provided directly by ATT, though they are now really at the same choosing priority(for me) as the price from DSLX has been risen.

Anyway, the activation date has been set to Friday 12/23, will see how it works. And will see what's the download rate my modem can attain when reaching the 6 SNR threshold.

So far so good! Connection stays at 2750 down with 5.9 SNR and 512 up with 20 SNR. Actually speed test shows 2400 down and 440 up, looks pretty optimized for the line, and it's still attaining a pretty low 15ms latency to the server my modem is connecting.

Will see how it works in the following weeks!
