[DVR] Missing recordings

I went on vacation for 2 weeks and had DVR set to record 16 1 hour shows. I come home to find out 9 last ones are missing and no future recordings are set to record. I still had plenty of space left and verified the missing shows were not repeats and that I was set to record up to 3 episodes of each. Does anyone know what gives?
No sign of power failure in house.
