Help configuring a WNDR3300

I'm looking for a little help with this router. I am having an issue with downloading files from the internet. All downloads stop after a few seconds. I know it's the router because I can bypass it not experience this issue.

I have AT&T Uverse and i think i read something about that service doing something every few seconds that can cause issues like this but could not find a solid fix. I thing I often see as a resolution is to disable the SPI Firewall but that does not work.

Anyone familiar with an issue like this and have any ideas on how I can configure the router to work with this?

Thanks in advanced.

Do you have the router running in the DMZ?

Can you provide a little more detail on how you have the WNDR3300 set up?

I use the same device with UVerse -- here's how I set mine up.

Why not use the Uverse residential gateway as the router, and the WNDR3300 as an access point. That's what I have done with the 2wire gateway and the Netgear WNDR3300 and it works quite well. It's not possible to completely disable the router portion of the 2wire gateway, but it actually works fine as a router and has a good firewall too. To use your WNDR3300 as an access point with the 2wire gateway doing the router functions, you need to disable the wireless radio on the gateway (in Setup). Then, you need to disable WAN and DHCP on the WNDR3300 which turns it into only an access point. Connect an Ethernet cable between the LAN ports (Not the WAN Port) of the 2wire and the Netgear, and make sure both have a fixed ip address within your LAN range. Configure the WNDR3300 for wireless as you normally would, and things should work fine. I'd be willing to bet that will solve your download problem.
