But in the last 5 years or so they were really priced out of there market. I was looking at a new one about 3 months ago. 26,000 dollars for a small pickup. Way to much for what it is. I think its main problem was fords inability to make a profit on it. |

| reply to rody_44 the midsize truck market is just about dead. most people figure they might as well spend a few grand more and step up to a full size.
i love my little dakota though. 4x4, v8, heated leather, seats 5 adults comfortably. no need for a full size. really no need for a truck at all but i wanted one. it's great for hauling random things when i need to or driving in the winter. can't drive it every day though because it rarely gets over 10mpg in town! |

rody_44Premium join:2004-02-20 Quakertown, PA | reply to thegeek Exactly what i liked about the ranger. Great gas mileage. Gave me a chuckle when you said yours seats five comfortably. My ranger has the buckets and seats only two uncomfortably. Want a real good laugh go to KBB and look what they say a 5 year old ranger is worth Its nothing to get close to 20 grand for a used ranger. My sons first new vehicle was a 1997 ranger and he paid 9600 for it. !5 years later and they are 26000 dollars. Still get great gas mileage tho which is why i like them. the 4 wheel drives get maybe 16 to 20 city but the 2 wheel drives with the 4.0 v6 or the 4 popper can get easy 26 to 28 city. |

OmenQSpazzPremium join:2003-03-21 Continuum | reply to Doctor Olds I miss my 1987 Ranger sometimes. I looked at getting a new Ranger a while back, but they were overpriced. For just a few bucks more, I got my Mustang. Much happier with the Mustang. -- Cogito Ergo Nom |

 | said by thegeek:you'll kick yourself when you need to haul anything other than ass Hauling ass is fun. Hauling anything else is work. I'll take fun over work anytime. |

 | Besides, that what fold-down rear seats are for. |

|
 | reply to OmenQ You bought a car without folding rear seats? I didn't know there was a modern car without them. |
|
OmenQSpazzPremium join:2003-03-21 Continuum | You don't buy a Mustang for cargo space. You buy a truck for that. -- Cogito Ergo Nom |
|
 | Why do you buy a Mustang, then? |
|
rody_44Premium join:2004-02-20 Quakertown, PA | reply to No_Strings Mustang rear seats fold down. At least they always did. |

OmenQSpazzPremium join:2003-03-21 Continuum | reply to No_Strings For hauling ass, haven't you been paying attention? @rody, the 2002 seats folded down, I'll have to check on the 2012 today. -- Cogito Ergo Nom |
