is there some software that will monitor and create a log of running processes recording the cpu usage and harddrive activity of each as well as individual network access. also needs to time stamp each entry.
Im trying to track down a bug in steam games and dont know if the stutter is cause by the game, steam, or something system related.
I want to test to see if something is spiking the system but the stutter only last for a second or two and there are no errors recorded anywhere. -- a birth certificate is also proof of death, eventually
reply to dauthiatull no it happens in all steam games. it seams steam is now aware of the problem. they say its an issue with the steam client as I suspected. lets hope they fix it soon -- a birth certificate is also proof of death, eventually
reply to dauthiatull Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Steam client? Ensuring it's running as administrator? Is your HDD defragged and your memory operating at 100% (memtest)?
reply to dauthiatull all that has been tried. as I said steam has said it is a steam issue. this problem has been around for a long time and there is no workaround. it started with a steam update.
it happens on different versions of windows. different hardware. old drivers new drivers even beta drivers. in short all system configurations.
people playing pirated steam games without steam running are not seeing the problem so the issue has been narrowed to the steam client.
I was hopping to find some link to the issue to submit to steam since they seem to be having trouble pinning this one down. -- a birth certificate is also proof of death, eventually
