AT+T Fiber in Santa Clara

Today, someone from AT+T walk through our neighborhood and said next year fiber is available in Santa Clara. He doesn't give any brochure, but said bandwidth up and down is in 10-24Mbps

did anyone have any experience with AT+T fiber network in Santa Clara?

Don't get too excited. They keep harassing people with door-to-door sales pitches for u-verse which they call fiber Internet (it is only fiber from CO to VRAD). While speeds of up to 24Mbps down are available the upstream bandwidth is only 3Mbps at the highest speed tier. The service into the home is either ADSL2+ or VDSL (depending on the equipment in the VRAD) over copper wires.

The sales people that came to my door (they keep coming back!) were extremely aggressive in pushing their service. The fact that I don't want it doesn't stop them. Be prepared to get flooded with marketing mail and sales calls once they actually install a VRAD on your street. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people signing up for u-verse just to make them stop.
