AMD Radeon 7970--- Fastest single gpu solution

Good news for us consumers, we need a strong AMD to keep the balance in the force, i just upgraded to a Nvidia 570 but will watch close when the non-reference AMD cards get on the market.

MSRP of 550 right? lol okay, not helping yet bring down the average persons card cost...

We will have to see what else comes out and if they can beat mid range cards on performance / price.

Once upon a time I spent $700+ on a GT8800.
I learned my lesson regarding future proofing, and computer parts.
And although I do not use amd cards, more competition is better for us, so I continue to hope for the best for amd.

lol ya you CAN'T... I spent 400 on a overclocked (lololol) 8800gts 640... TBH it worked for me till it died and xfx sent me a 5670 as RMA... F that... built a new computer with a 470 (around 350 when I got it)

Them high end cards are just I got money look at meeeeeeeee lol.

anyone know when nvidia was gona put out the next gen gpus? I have heard everything from December... to q2 2012...

Well, until Nvidia releases a competing product, everyone should be buying a 7970 (if you're in the market for a $500 video card)

It does it faster, cooler and with less noise than nvidia for the same price --- although it's not by much.
