| I decided I want to see this movie after about 30 seconds of the trailer.
Usually for sci-fi like this I read a book, but I enjoy it when it's done on the big screen. -- "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L. Mencken

.
The trailer looks fantastic,
Trailers can be misleading at times though,
..
This looks a little like a cross between Event Horizon and the original Alien movie.
Event Horizon wasnt all that great as I recall,....but the trailers for it looked good
Either way I want to see this,... |

By the way, according to IMDB the movie started out as a prequel to the Alien series:

 | reply to Octavean I already put this one on my MUST SEE list.

I remember reading somewhere that it is supposed to be in part, a prequel to the Alien films. And unless I'm mistaken, that ship crashing to the ground in the trailer is the same one they found in Alien. |

MajestikWorld TravelerPremium join:2001-05-11 Tulsa, OK 1 edit | reply to Octavean I just watched the preview. Appear to be the humans Ripley and the crew found dead during the beginning of the first movie. That is definitely the alien ship.
I've been thinking. If I remember correctly the company already knew of this alien ship long before Ripleys ship arrived there. I think. I need to watch Alien again. Haven't watched it in years. -- The adventure continues...Sanctuary.... |

| reply to Majestik I watched Alien last night and there are definite similarities.
The way the title is slowly written across the screen is the same as the title sequence in Alien. Makes sense since they're both directed by Ridley Scott. The object rising from the center of the ship looks a lot like the object that the "space jockey" is sitting in in Alien. The ship sitting on the ground looks like the same ship as the craft in Alien, except that the one in Alien has fallen over a bit. Mostly because of the "U" shape.
In Alien, the computer (Mother) intercepted a signal, woke the crew early from suspended animation, and told the science officer (Ash, the synthetic human) to bring back a sample no matter the cost.
In Aliens the company sent a couple of people (Newt's mother and father) to check out the ship after Ripley was found and told her story. Prior to that, the planet was being terra-formed without incident. -- "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L.
