 | high latency Hello,
My sons computer has a very difficult time playing games such as GTA 4 (i hink) and battlefield 3. It slows to the point of unplayable immediately upon entering any game.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
It is a simple computer with 8GB RAM and a Radeon 4750 graphics card. Nothing added or anything special to it. |

See if you can open task manager and see if you're hitting 100% on cpu when playing. |

I've spent a long time messing with GTA4 and know its highly CPU reliant and GPU also. A quad is better for these 2 games mentioned.
I assume you just bought these and its been that way since you installed or is it possible these problems just started happening?
I can't comment on BF3 much but I know (and GTA4 being a lot older) that your system is struggling. My gut tells me your maxed out on the current setup and hit a wall. -- Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packin' right here, all right. The fact you're seeing it with GTA4 suggests something else could be wrong with the computer.
Your CPU also barely matches the minimum requirements to play GTA4 . . . try not to have anything else open or running when you start it.
Other than that, you simply have a poor CPU and graphics card that won't play either of the above games well.
If you have played GTA4 in the past on the same computer without issue, then I suspect a virus or worm is the culprit. |
