Re: [CATV] Charter didn't inform of local buy out Are you sure it was Southern Cable Systems, and not Southern Cable Services? The later appears to be a tiny company in a few parts of Alabama, that doesn't have a website. |

And my mom also told the Charter rep she would consider switching to dish because Charter never keeps her updated. After she said that, Charter offered us a "holiday" package but all they did was give us the movie channel on her already basic cable package. So how did they do that if Charter isn't servicing us anymore? This is EXACTLY what you said in your first post
said by septcasey:Charter told her that our service area was recently bought out by a company called Southern Cable Systems. YOU are the one that started this whole thing by saying you were told Charter sold your area to another company. IF that is indeed the case then Charter is no longer your cable company. I'm only going on imformation YOU gave. Here's an idea why not tell us the town you are in an maybe we can find out some info for you? This is only like the 3rd time I've asked you for this info. |

Bengie25 join:2010-04-22 Wisconsin Rapids, WI | reply to battleop So you sell cable internet using Charter's DOCSIS network? |
|
 | Yes but we are a service provider who specializes in delivering a complete solution. That means you are buying a lot more than just internet from us. We will provide a dumb pipe to customers but only on T1/DS3/Metro E and not over a cable or DSL connection where the margins are so thin that a 10 minute call to tech support eats up any profit we have on those connections. |

They have been wanting to sell my employer both for several years. |

 | Sorry for the late reply. It turns out southern cable services has nothing to do with my area. A couple weeks ago we read in the local paper that Media 3 will be taking over our area for cable services and that Charter would continue to service our area until the transition happens. Well a few days ago our cable goes out. We called Charter to report the problem and they told us they cut the cable off and that they had sent us a notice in the mail 3 months earlier about this. We never got the notice. Keep in mind that this is now being said to us after the whole southern cable thing mentioned before. We found out Media 3 would not be able to service my area until early summer 2012. We called direc tv and ordered service from them after learning this. Charter did not give us the right information on any of these occasions. After over a decade of being a loyal customer, this is how it ends. I guess rural area Charter customers are not given the respect of updated information. |
