Is there an updated list of public stun servers?

I used to use voxalot's stun server but they are going away in a few days so I'll need another one. Does anyone know of a current list of public stun servers?

(McCoy) She's dead Jim... (/McCoy)

I tried that and it seems to be down. I noticed a call state I had never seen before... "Stunning"

This is my latest verified list (as of today):

69.0.208.27 *
stun.voip.aebc.com
stun.noc.ams-ix.net
stun.callwithus.com
sip1.lakedestiny.cordiaip.com
stun.counterpath.net
stun.ekiga.net
stun.ideasip.com
stun.internetcalls.com
stun.ipns.com
stun.phonepower.com
stun.phoneserve.com
stun.rnktel.com
stun.sipgate.net
stun.sipgate.net:10000
stun.softjoys.com **
stunserver.org ***
provserver.televolution.net
stun1.voiceeclipse.net
stun.voipbuster.com
stun.voxalot.com
stun.voxgratia.org
stun.xten.com

Note that I have no affiliation with any of the above, do not endorse nor recommend any, and cannot vouch for their safety or trustworthiness. Use them at your own risk/discretion.

* Reverse DNS lookup of 69.0.208.27 resolves to stun01.sipphone.com. However, stun01.sipphone.com resolves to some other IP address (which is non-responsive), so I have no idea who runs this server. The IP subnet belongs to Pier 1 Dedicated Hosting, but the server could be operated by anyone, so beware.

** stun.softjoys.com has been mostly offline in the past few months, but is currently up. Don't know to what extent it will remain operational.

*** stunserver.org seems to be down, currently, and has been for the past 24hrs or so. I've listed it, since it's been working reliably up until now, but I have no idea what the reason for its downtime is, nor whether it will be put back in operation.

numb.viagenie.ca is configured incorrectly and returns bad results.

I guess if you'd like to try rolling your own you could download the software and install one yourself: »sourceforge.net/projects/stun/

Maybe not a bad idea if you already have a server running 24/7 anyway.

Is it just a library or STUN server? There is no any doc or manual about what it does and how it does it. And homepage of the project doesn't respond too.

I like the idea to run own STUN server, but I couldn't find a decent and simple server running on Windows platform...

Keep it simple, it'll become complex by itself...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going with CWU, I hope he doesn't mind.

I don't have my own server, I don't know enough to safely have one on a public ip.

Here's another one for your list:
stun.3cx.com
It's very reliable and has excellent connectivity. 3CX has a vested interest in making it work reliably for their PBX servers which are installed all over the world by resale partners. Visit their home page for details.

comments/ideas about Stun usage

Most providers send back the ip:port back to your ata in normal sip conversations. When initially registering, it will get that information already, so Stun isn't usually necessary. Frequently I'll see that people set up Stun out of commonality of what others are doing, rather than doing proper testing or research and thus knowing what the settings are.
