[Anime] Need something to get back in to

I don't know if I'm just burned out on anime or I'm starting to get bored with it. But I need something to watch to peak my interest again. Can you recommend anything? here is my MAL list

»myanimelist.net/animelist/Jellokun

Thanks

Based on Baka to Test, Hayate no Gotoku and Toradora, I'd quickly recommend School Rumble. School Rumble is what started me off in this genre and it's an instant classic. Hilarious, fast paced, and full of parodies.

The anime has two seasons with the third season being released only has 2 episodes in OVA format.

Thanks alamarco for the recommendation I actually own School Rumble season 1 (bought during Best Buy liquidation of anime) and honestly I can never seem to get into it. Maybe I'll give it another go

Thanks.

You've never watched One Piece? You can watch 500 episodes online. It takes a bit to really get into it, but I like it quite a bit.

Fairy Tail, throw in some Gundam (NOT AGE), throw in some Nichijou and you should be fine.

I'd say also to just rewatch something you haven't seen in awhile, and see how it holds up to your tastes now. I just rewatched Gundam 00 through both seasons, and realized I actually like this series much more than I thought I did. I didn't like the movie, but the series itself was really good.

Hey Chiyo,

I'm feeling the exactly the same way right now.
The summer/fall season of shows weren't quite up my alley.

Either way right now i'm watching the Patlabor OVA's and Movies.

I didn't see the show on your list, so hope it helps.

Been there, done that. Sometimes all you need is a series that deviates from the norm to get your interest back.

I have a few suggestions:

Girls Bravo (which I see is on hold)
Godannar
Spice and Wolf
Negima (the first series, not the second)
Claymore
One Piece

Luffy, Zoro and Usopp: Chopper's a doctor?!?!
Nami: Why did you think we made Chopper join our crew?
Luffy: Seven Level transformation... Cool Reindeer...
Sanji: Emergency food supply...

I forgot to mention, and remembered since I just watched the last episode, but Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai) is a good watch. It's about misfits making friends with each other because they have no friends and it's hilarious. There's a small side story, but the main focus is the antics.

Although the genre is different, it's kind of like K-On where the story was just in the background to all the antics going on.

You have one long list of anime.

Not sure if you prefer a long or short series to get you back into the anime scene. I have just finished a short series: Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (Abbreviated as AnoHana). I burnt through the series in a single sitting.

Another short series (+ OVA) I also enjoyed is Tamayura and Tamayura Hitotose. The above series are all about coming of age.

One series (OVA) that I cannot recommend enough is Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of Sinners. As mentioned in one of my previous post: Beautifully drawn (Chase scene in the bamboo forest); the choreography was amazing (especially the fight scene in Paradox Spiral); haunting music by Yuki Kajiura and the performance by Kalafina. Though, be prepared, this series messes up your mind...and hurt deep into your wallet.

It might be harder than you think. I basically don't watch anime anymore due to the low quality of the stuff being released these days. :/

I was randomly browsing Rotten Tomatoes for some good movies to watch, and came across First Squad.

It's a really good movie!!! I think it's Japanese, but it takes place in Russia in WWII. It's kinda cool cause it's all in Russian.

Also, I'm going to try and and watch a series called Nadia – The Secret of Blue Water. It's pretty old, but it seems pretty good. I'll try watching the first episode and go from there.

Just back from completing Steins;Gate. After Ep01, I left the series sitting on the shelf - If I remember correctly, it was the lead character irked the heck out of me. Finally sat down and watched the series in the last few days (and re-watched within last 24 hours!). All I can say now is a big WOW! Twenty-four episodes of tightly woven, gut-wrenching, heart-aching, beautifully written story (based on a VN), with a lovable Tsundere to boot! Good voice acting and great characters development. Two big thumbs up for this series (I noticed that S;G is not on your list).

Do NOT read any information (blogs, wiki, etc.) about the series, it will only spoil it for you.

Steins;Gate was indeed good. One of the best for those seasons. The story was well done. They're making a movie now I believe.

Your list is sort of on the small end of things. You should take a look at anime from the 80s/90s. Heck, you haven't even seen shows like Casshern, Hokuto no Ken, Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami, Uchuu Senkan Yamato. No Gundam? Macross? Princess Tutu? Urusei Yatsura? Then again, looking at the scoes you give shows it looks like you won't widen your choices much.

Alot of the shows you've watched came after the moeblob boom. Do recommend Steins Gate, good show. Spice and Wolf I liked though it might be slow paced for you. Negima is okay, please don't watch any dubs.
