 | [Cable] Cable Internet Starter kit from CC I'm planning on getting the starter kit from Canada Computers. I currently have Bell DSL and I'm planning on switching.
My question is, if say I'm not satisfy with Tek's Cable Service after the 1st month, will there be any penalties for cancelling it after the first month? (i'm going to run both DSL and Cable and having the DSL as backup)
Also, how does the starter kit work? I know it comes with the modem? Do i just call Tek's customer service and have them arrange the tech guy from Rogers to come to my place to install?
Any inputs are welcome |

You are billed in advance of each month of service. As long as you cancel at least 5 days before the monthly renewal date, you won't be charged for the next month. The first month of course, is free with the kit. There is a 30 day money back guarantee, in which you should be able to return the modem back to Canada Computers and get a refund.
When you get the kit, there is a number on the box that you call to activate your service. Tell them you have the kit, they'll ask you for some info. The soonest the Rogers tech will be able to come is 7 days, the Teksavvy rep will ask you for 3 dates and times to try to schedule them to come. The Rogers tech will *usually* take care of all the cabling up to the modem and should test to make sure the line is okay. It can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 24 hours for your line to be provisioned after the install... |

good luck in any case. |

Starter kit is a modem, activation, and first month of service. If you don't continue after the first month (call before the end of the month) worst case - you have a modem to sell on kijiji. No additional fees. |

| reply to resound91 Verify your in a sell zone and can be connected.
Also, it has to get connected by Rogers. If you have any trouble, remember that its probably a Rogers problem so don't be quick to blame TSI. Keep on them daily if there are problems so you get connected asap and have time to evaluate the service. |

 | reply to resound91 Doesn't look like CC is selling the kits anymore. Called a few stores and was told TSI was trying to upgrade network hardware and therefore wanted to offer different modems in the future? or probably raise the price of the kits as well. |

The catalogue item on the CC website has been removed as well. I guess I missed my chance. |
