[Internet] RoadRunner Lightning [Bradenton, FL]

Tech guy came out, installed Ubee modem-router yesterday around 1-2pm.

Did a speed test using »speedtest.cfl.rr.com/.
Results came up as ~18mbps download, ~4.5mbps upload.
(Same download speed I had with turbo.)

I asked when I'd get the full speed.
He contacted mother ship and the response he gave me was, "Within 24 hours."

I know it's only been 12 hours but here's the deal:
I'm getting less speed than before (5-15mbps download, 2-4mbps upload).
I'm struggling to even finish the test now;
the yellow progress ball will slow/stall 90% of the time and the "speedometer" will fluctuate.

I'm using a wireless adapter (wusb54g).
Where the heck do I go from here?

Please send me your modem MAC and IP address right away and I will get this taken care of...

Also do NOT test on a wireless connection...wired to the modem or router only.

PM sent.

I hooked a laptop up with an ethernet cord to the modem and it was receiving 39mbps.

Now, I need a wireless adapter that can get that kind of speed.
It won't be practical to run a line from my tower to the modem.

Okay there are no signal related issues affecting you. The wireless adapter is a problem for me given the make and model. Connect wired to the modem and post screen shots of your speeds please.

I decided it was best if I just moved the whole setup into my room (originally in the living room).
What a chore!
After getting it all hooked up I reset the modem, reconfigured the wireless settings,
and then for good measure I power cycled.

The netbook and laptop will have to live with their built in wireless G receivers.
