I play this on my desktop with windows 7 just fine.
My laptop uses Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. here is what happens. I have updated my graphics drivers and my chipset drivers, tried rebooting, uninstalling/reinstalling with no positive results.

On my other computer, it loads up, goes black, then starts.
Here, it loads up, goes black, tries again, then just dies. Windows task manager reads it as unresponsive.
What can I do to fix this? Is this machine too new to play such an old game? I've tried reinstalling with a number of different patches, to no avail.
