| VPN Client by Cisco Help My friend is running VPN Client 5.0.07.0290 and just recently it stopped working. He would start it up, enter his user name and password, click connect, but the window would just pop right back up. No error codes, verified user name and password. Disabled Windows Firewall, and there is no option to run it as administrator. When he had someone at his work in the it department or something gain access to his computer to see what was wrong, he said they were running a torrent or something and it needs to be switched to manual in order for this vpn client to work. He has no torrents, and no torrent programs, and I already checked this. What could this be? He is running Windows Vista x64 -- No Victim=No Crime |

Any ideas why the window would just pop back up without saying anything after entering the username/password and pressing connect? -- No Victim=No Crime |

 | reply to billydunwood Have the HD check and see if his ID is still in the system and/or disabled?
Without access to either the VPN client logs or the backend infrastructure, can't say for sure what this could be, but this has got to be tackled from both the user end and the HD end, and the stuff of HD coming back and saying "they were running a torrent or something and it needs to be switched to manual in order for this vpn client to work" smacks of a) someone knowing jackall about troubleshooting, or b) a lazy twit who's making up stuff to get a user off the line.

Regards I see exactly what your saying. He wanted to gain access to all of the computers in their house to see if their was a torrent on the computer, and there wasn't, so I am not sure how he gets a torrent is blocking the vpn, since none of their computers have it. I am troubleshooting their vpn/computer in the morning. -- No Victim=No Crime |
