Re: Clueless Father Here, Which Game Console Is The Best? PS3 is way more expensive even at the low end than the Xbox 360 but if you like the idea of 3D gaming it gives you more titles for that and of course you can watch 3D blu-ray movies on it. My brother's one knock against the PS3 is that in terms of controls for games that are on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 it is Microsoft's console that has the easiest controllers to use.
For me I had an Xbox 360 first, Wii second and the PS3 in my home 3rd ... order I purchased them ....
if I didn't get a 3D tv I would never have gotten a PS3 |

| Not to sound like a fanboy, but how in the heck is a Xbox cheaper than a PS3? Yes, you can get a 4g Xbox for about $200*, but it is bare bones. A PS3 is $250*, and you can add your own hard drive without getting banned. That's not to including the costs to access/play online. At least PS3 has free, basic, online multiplayer.
As for the most expensive system, in my opinion, is the Wii. I was livid when my wife bought it (at $200). I told her it is too expensive for what she wants to do. From multiple regular controllers needed, you have Nunchucks/FIT/Classic/Gamecube. $$$$$$$$$$
As for controls, I have no problems with the PS3 controller.

I had a Wii too. Loved it, until I ran out of games to play - then I sold it. All the Mario titles are excellent, and Zelda never gets old. Outside of that it's pretty limited.
Happy PS3 owner now. We got the Wii for my son when he was 5. He is now six and still loves it. I have never really been into games but my wife is. Eventually I see them moving on to xbox most likely. But for just fun games Wii is worthwhile. |

I wonder what the actual general gamer consensus is about the Playstation and Xbox controllers. For myself, I find the Xbox controller to be more comfortable than the Playstation one. |

 | reply to Goggalor I'm going to concur with you. The Playstation controller is uncomfortable enough to me to the point that it is the reason I don't/never will own a playstation. -- Slydermv--In short.. hookers save lives.

GoggalorPsychonautPremium join:2009-06-09 Your Mind! kudos:1 | The controller is not that bad (remember the old Atari controller?); it just is not as comfortable as Xbox's. Really, if Sony would drop the L2/R2 buttons to be more trigger-like, add a little weight, and make the controller ever so slightly bigger, I think it would be much more appealing. |

GoggalorPsychonautPremium join:2009-06-09 Your Mind! kudos:1 | Smaller? Why? They have had the same design for the last, what, 7 or 8 years? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Though, we are talking about Microsoft and they love breaking their shite. |
