I cancelled Cox service on 12/26/2011. I have a confirmation email stating this on that day.

I returned my equipment, and paid my due balance in full.

This company sent my account to a collection agency on 12/29/2011. This is after I requested a printed final bill. I received that bill on 01/16/2012. I also received a letter from a collection agency dated 12/29/2012.

I have a email, with a corporate letter, stating I paid my account in full yesterday. It also states I returned all equipment, and owe Cox nothing.

Why am I still receiving calls regarding my account? Why was my account ever sent to a collection agency?

This is very sick. This company is trying to treat me like I did something wrong, when I did nothing wrong.

I am being harassed when I owe nothing.

Absolutely sick.

I was going to look for technical forums for help with my slow internet speeds with Cox. But, after reading this thred, and the researching I did, it seems pointless. It sure looks like other people have the same problems I do.

I may as well start shopping.

Sounds like cox could use some humility via some bad press. First I would start recording all phone calls to cox (nv is only a one party notify state so you don't have to tell them your recording plus they usually do it and the phone system voice usually gives that notice which covers you too) and perhaps post them here. I would also call the local ch 13 You ask we Investigate for some advise/let them know, it may get on the news. When they call a company on your behalf sudenly the company pulls it's head out their a$$
