Got it via the updater and it required a reboot and then something strange happened. It did not reboot back into Windows but went directly to "loading ramdisk" and started the Acer Recovery routine. Talk about panic !!! I waited for the first window to appear and cancelled out, rebooted and got back into Windows with no apparent damage.

That's enough to make you break into a sweat!!

The internal update did not work for me. Had to update it manually from version 1.51 and now it will no longer start. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it again and Malwarebytes no longer works on my Win 7 x64.

Thanks, siljaline.
Like some others, I had problems when updating via the internal updater on one machine. (Stop error and program wouldn't run).
After that I learned my lesson and did a complete fresh install after removing all remnants of the older version first...(including using mbam-clean.exe, as mentioned by gugarci.)
No problems at all on my other machines with that procedure.

There may not have been problems anyway, depending on the other machines...just thought I'd go the safe way to be sure. (Heck, it was probably about time for a fresh install of this program anyway).
In fact, there are several threads over at the Malwarebytes' Forum with similar problems with this update. However, it appears they are quick with solutions, as always.
