Re: Fibe 16 with Sagemcom - DSL disconnects with coffee maker!

said by Glen1:

If you paid $99 for the Sagemcom then it sounds like you are on a "wholesale" service like Teksavvy. That might be the reason why you are being "ignored" in the Bell direct forum I am not familiar with the warranty provided via the 3rd party providers. Are you with another provider?

I payed Bell a 1 Time rental fee instead of a monthly fee for the Sagemcom. They changed from monthly rental fees to a 1 time rental fee, which was $99 for the Sagemcom.

I think I am being ignored in the Bell Direct forum cause I mentioned the use of a 3rd party modem; which they don't support. I've had other issues answered, just this one seems to be getting ignored.

And I am on Bell, not on a 3rd party. Hench the topic title 'Fibe 16'
and in the Bell forum.

Is there a warranty on the modem when you "purchase" it like you did?

Well there's no fee when exchanging modems when it's broken, if that's what your asking.

I would reconnect the Sagemcom modem and then call them on the phone (Bell). Tell them your connection is intermittent and don't even mention the 3rd party modem...keep that to yourself. Get the Sagemcom replaced and then make your choice whether you want to use it or not.

I believe the SURF number is local to Canada. BELL number is "over-seas."

Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like too much trouble to me.

Esp since last time I had to return a modem, took me some work to get them to admit they actually received it back.

My 3rd party modem works fine. If I need support, guess i'll have to re-hook the sagemcom up then phone em!

The only prob with this is the Sagemcom has an insanely tight fit on the phone cord.

If I have to do this too many times, I'm afraid the phone cord will break!

yes..internet will drop only when i turn the heater on..and off...not between....that means i can reconnect to the internet after it disconnected while the heater is on, however...once i turn it off, the internet will drop again....i believed some sort of voltage problem..

thats interesting.

My internet will disconnect at the end of the brew cycle, only. It will not disconnect when turning on or heating up the water. Which I think its taking too much voltage which I watched the other day, at the end of brewing it spits the water out and at the same time turns on the heater to heat the water at the same time. Looks like it drawing too much power for the water and heating at the same time.

Also you didn't mention if any of the lights blink when the heater is on?

I think this Sagemcom is just too sensitive.

That's weird because I have a TV, audio Receiver, Bell satellite receiver and a PC all connected to the same outlet as my sagemcom and it's not disconnecting. I even see the lights dimmer a small fraction when I turn the PC on, modem is still working.
