Cary, NC | [DVR] Update: STM-3270 Ethernet Port (TWC DVR) I had asked about the Ethernet port (»[DVR] STM-3270 Ethernet Port) and was basically told it was useless to me.
I have since found that it is only nearly useless. 
Connecting the port to my LAN makes the DVR visible to Vista but it can't do anything with it. However, my PS3 can control the DVR playing, pausing, etc. and deleting recorded video.
Due to the arrangement of stuff in the house, this doesn't do much for me but thought it may be useful to others. On the down side, when connected to the LAN the DVR make DHCP requests every couple of minutes so I ended up disconnecting the DVR from the LAN. |
