mcevoys join:2002-02-06 Ridgefield, CT | CT 'Assesment' (fee) on home heating oil After passing the largest tax increase in state history, Governor Malloy isn't done yet. How about a 'fee' on home heating oil?
Big agenda, and a few battles, brewing for energy and environment in 2012 |

| Nonsense like this may get me to move south, something I thought wasn't possible. At least not before 70.
A surtax / fee on heating oil? What are they smoking. -- "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." |

Like I said before, I wonder who Malloy is going to leach off of when he's the only one left in the state. |

Governor Malloy leads the Democrats in this state, and Democrats control the state legislature (and judiciary). Whatever problems we have, blame the leaders. In this case it's amazingly easy, the primary leader in our state government is Governor Malloy.
Governor Malloy seems to have never met a tax he didn't want to hike, or a plan regulate something he didn't want to add to. Government intrusion into all facets of our life makes us less free. Government taxing employers and workers causes them to migrate.
The recipe Governor Malloy is making will be for a state that resembled Detroit. A depopulated welfare state with bloated government that is corrupt, one party, and a total failure by almost all measurement. -- "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." |
|
 | Malloy is practicing the Cloward-Piven Strategy. Create disasters and an excuse for even larger government. When the heck are the welfare recipients going to wake up? When the gravy train runs out, it's going to be brutal. We're talking "Mad Max" survival of the most violent and ruthless. |

Please learn how the government works before spouting your nonsense.
The Governor proposes legislation. The recent tax increase (largest in state history) came from him. |

| reply to cowboyro While Malloy was mayor of Stamford the only thing he did was raise taxes. Shelton ends up almost every year with a tiny budget surplus (that is not being wasted "because we have it"), has reduced the mill rate last year (while already having the lowest mill rate in the region) and is continuously improving. Discuss. |
