[Internet] internet prices dropped again? fibe25 from $27.48

according to the website, bell has dropped their prices again (toronto ontario):

looks like data usage went from 125GB to 100GB though.

Fibe 25 $64.95 /mo.
Bell Bundle for Internet -$5.00 /mo.
$32.47 credit for months 1 to 12 -$32.47 /mo.
Activation Fee $29.95

Usage 100 GB/mo.; $1.00/additional GB (max. $80/mo.)

if you currently have fibe 25, can you switch to this price without having to pay the activation fee?

It looks like they changed a lot of things.

Fibe 16 and 25 in Quebec used to have a 90GB and 100GB cap respectively. Now they have an 80GB and 90GB cap.

Fibe 12, 16, and 25 in Ontario had a 50GB, 75GB, and 125GB cap. Now they have a 40GB, 65GB, and 100GB cap.

I'm a little impressed with how far out of their way Bell is willing to go to apply minor tweaks to how they can screw people harder... give $25 here, take $30 there.

Looks like this may be one way of clawing back some revenues from their killer holiday deals.

I'm pretty sure you could by telling them your cancelling.

The Fibe 10 package in Quebec is also going from 75 GB to 60 GB according to the site. It better be only for new customers... I'm keeping a close eye to my allowed quota on their portal. If they drop my package from 75 GB to 60 GB, then they better have a really good offer for me, or this might finally convince this 10+ year customer here to move elsewhere. I had been staying with them recently mostly because of the inconvenience of switching. If my bill is going to increase by another 10-20$/month due to that change, I'm gone.

EDIT: while the top section says Fibe 10, the bottom section says "up to 7 Mbits in Download". Which would be consistent with the 60 GB quota it also mentions. Looks like their website is pretty borked at the moment...

It seems the more speed they offer the lower the data you can get. I had been looking at it a few weeks ago, but 125 gigs just isn't enough and no way I am going to pay they 75 a month to get whats now going to be 225 gigs.

Now I just wish teksavvy would offer fibe in my area or at least cable internet.

Buddy in BC dropped his DSL just before christmas in favour of a 2 room HD DVR with a cable company I think it was. I think he said 500 gig data, 100mbs, non of this 25 stuff and all for about $105 a month.

Just call in and cancel, they will offer you a better plan. I signed up for Fibe25 in mid-december. They offered me 125GB cap for $39.50 a month. A few weeks later I called to cancel and they offered me 250GB cap for $42. I added another 40GB for $5 to bring my cap up to 290GB for $47/month and no contract. Better price than TSI...

in Vancouver BC- ADSL costs about $60/mo for unlimited traffic from Telus (25 down, 3 up.) - and Shaw offers unlimited traffic for $135/mo - 100 down, 5 up, and if you're in a newer area, for $135/mo 250 down, 15 up, unlimited traffic.

TELUS has a 500GB soft cap on Turbo 25, which is advertised as 2.5Mbps upstream.
