Verizon Going To Charge To Make Payment(s) Online

***Nevermind**

I hear they are getting ready to start charging $2.00 if you choose to make your payment online.

Anyone else heard about this, or is this old news?

Verizon Wireless offers customers numerous free and simple payment options and we encourage customers to use those options. Starting January 15, a new $2 payment convenience fee will be instituted for customers who make single bill payments online or by telephone. There are a couple of exceptions. See below. The fee will help allow us to continue to support these single bill payment options in these channels and is designed to address costs incurred by us for only those customers who choose to make single bill payments in alternate payment channels (online, mobile, telephone). It is waived for those who pay by electronic check or enroll in AutoPay -- we encourage customers to use those or other payment options that incur no fees. [See complete list below.] The telephone and online single payment fee, which takes effect January 15, will be disclosed up-front and throughout the transaction.

There are numerous payment options available to our customers where the fee is waived or where no fee applies. They include:

1. Electronic check online (My Verizon Online, My Verizon Mobile/Handset). Fee waived.
2. Electronic check via telephone. Fee waived.
3. Enrollment in AutoPay using credit/debit/ATM card or electronic check; fee does not apply
4. Online from the customer’s home-banking service provider website; fee does not apply.
5. Credit/debit/ATM card, electronic check or cash at a Bill Payment Kiosk, Panel or with a representative at a Verizon Wireless Communications Store; fee does not apply.
6. Use of a Verizon Wireless Gift Card or Verizon Wireless device Rebate Card to pay a bill in-store, online or by telephone; fee does not apply
7. Paper check or money order mailed to the VZW remit address on customer’s bill; fee does not apply.

Thankfully due to 'customer feedback' they're scrapping this fee..for now.

»money.cnn.com/2011/12/30/technol···pt=hp_t1

Supposedely they need auto pay for the upcoming Family Data packages they'll be unveiling next year for guaranteed revenue as they don't want people with those packages calling up about overages and customers demanding those overages be removed along with credits. Slimey and shi**y as the rest of the major corporations out there mindset wise.

Verizon Drops Plan for $2 Fee on Some Bill Payments

In a remarkably swift reversal, Verizon Wireless has canceled plans to impose a $2 “convenience fee” on some bill payments, just a day after announcing the new policy.

The company said in a statement that it was dropping the plan in light of customer feedback.

“Verizon Wireless has decided it will not institute the fee for online or telephone single payments that was announced earlier this week,” it said. “The company made the decision in response to customer feedback about the plan, which was designed to improve the efficiency of those transactions. The company continues to encourage customers to take advantage of the numerous simple and convenient payment methods it provides.”

They may have dropped the plans to charge a $2.00 fee to pay a bill but they had no problem increasing their "Administrative Fee" from $0.83 to $0.99 per line. It wasn't all that long ago when this junk fee made it's debut at $.25 per line.

I'm not sure what, but something else has gone up on my bill. I was paying $112 something a month, and now January's bill is $114 something. Heck it might be time to go back to land line service. Or at least get a dumb flip phone with no data.
I pay just about the same amount for cable TV with HD, and internet combined. Something just doesn't make much sense here.

I noticed they jacked the USF fee too. You might find an increase on yours as well.

I did! Just got my bill this afternoon. I now pay the same amount for cable tv/HD/internet as I do for one smart and one dumb phone. Something just doesn't click here.

edit***

sorry just realized I repeated my last thread
