wwts1 join:2011-12-29 Mechanicsville, VA | hn9200 anyone familiar with these? it looks to me that they are only being used for ku band so far on amc15-a or amc15-b and they are mostly using ka radios. From what i can see you need a certain part number ka radio to work on amc15-b. Why don't they use ku radios for for ku band? the registration process seems real quick and web browsing seems real quick compared to a 9000 (i guess amc15 isn't crowded yet?) anyway, it seems not many people know much about this product from what i can tell. |

I've been on AMC15 in the past with an iDirect unit. Most or all of that satellite is leased to Echostar, which in turn leased some space to the company I was using. Since Echostar now owns Hughes it makes sense that they would use it.
It is downlinked in Gilbert (suburb of Phoenix).
What you have above doesn't make a lot of sense, in terms of radios and bands. -- Motosat self-pointing dishes: 1.2-meter XF-3 on 127W, .74 meter G74 on 127W, SL-5 HD DirecTV|idirect 3100|Hughes HN7000S|Verizon UMW190 Air Card|1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge Bus "Blue Thunder"|Author of hnFAP-Alert, PC-OPI and DSSatTool |

However it appears that Echostar only leases the Ku-band, so I guess that answers my question - »www.echostarsatelliteservices.co···eas.aspx -- Motosat self-pointing dishes: 1.2-meter XF-3 on 127W, .74 meter G74 on 127W, SL-5 HD DirecTV|idirect 3100|Hughes HN7000S|Verizon UMW190 Air Card|1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge Bus "Blue Thunder"|Author of hnFAP-Alert, PC-OPI and DSSatTool |

dbirdmanPremium,MVM join:2003-07-07 Eureka, CA kudos:5 | reply to wwts1 wwts1, do you have the 9200? If so, I have other questions. One is whether the FAP allowance is a single daily refill like the 9000, or an hourly bucket like the 7000. If anyone else has the 9200 and can answer please tell us.
Secondly, how is hnFAPalert working with the 9200?
And finally, do people with the 9200 have the "Bank" rollover yet? -- Motosat self-pointing dishes: 1.2-meter XF-3 on 127W, .74 meter G74 on 127W, SL-5 HD DirecTV|idirect 3100|Hughes HN7000S|Verizon UMW190 Air Card|1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge Bus "Blue Thunder"|Author of hnFAP-Alert, PC-OPI and DSSatTool |

 | dbirdman,
HN9200 modems can be configured with a large variety of service plans depending upon the hub they're connected to.
i've seen them used on Ka spot beams with rolling 24 hour or 8 hour FAP profiles. or even, no FAP profile. The networks i'm familiar with do not currently support a roll-over 'bank' for Download Threshold.
i have not seen any configured with a 24 hour resetting Download Threshold.
but i have also not seen one being run on a network owned by HNS.
the modem's operational software looks almost identical to the HN7000S's software, but the Ka pointing procedure uses the same DAPT and Squinting tools as the HN9000 systems. |

 | reply to dbirdman WildBlue has two beams pointed at the south east U.S. that uses some of the Ka capacity on AMC-15. |
