Westell 7500 To HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Via Ethernet

Hi-Right now I have the HP 8600 running through an Ethernet cable from the printer to a Westell 327 router. All is okay. Verizon is sending me a 7500 replacement. Are there any known issues I need to watch out for? Are these two units compatible?

Once I had the right driver for the HP, It connected right up with the 327 WEP. I want to stay Ethernet rather than wireless. Verizon service says the 7500 uses WPA. Not sure if the HP will recognize that. I'd like to find out as much as I can before the router arrives.

Thanks,

CTG

The 327 and the 7500 use the same subnet and dhcp range/pool so changing modems should be easy if both modems use default settings

If the HP 8600 is connected by ethernet cable the wireless setting won't matter

You should find out what the ip address of the HP 8600 is and if it's dhcp or static

Thank you. I expect the 7500 to be delivered about 1/3/2012. Will advise.

You should find out what the ip address of the HP 8600 is and if it's dhcp or static well before making any changes
