Good by MJ It took me 45 mins on a chat just to cancel this terrible device. I've had it for three or four years. When the MJ worked it was great, but it rarely did. The device rarely worked and customer services chats takes forever. With Magicjack you really get what you pay for. You want cheap calls, you get cheap service. The operators where nice but it took two of them 45 mins to just cancel the service. This must be the company's MO to just delay delay to finally give up. I came to the conclusion that the is a lot better service available and totally for free. All you need is a smart phone and Internet and you are set. I'm not promoting any other products here, we all are familiar with what they are. I dare someone meaningful with the company to call me about this. I'm for real and my MJ # is / was 228-331-0260 and my name is Jay, MJ has my contact info from the number if they care to hear from me directly.

Re: Good bye MJ Correct, but I wanted to also forewarn others before they make the same mistake and sign up for this terrible service.

I do not know what you talking about. I just switched to MJ Plus and I love it. The old MJ was OK but you could hear bit of a delay. I think the service is as good as your internet. Now I can talk for $99.00 for 5 years. How can you beat that. I use to spent that in 2 months .... Also I have cordless phone wired to the jack with 5 stations through out the house. Works perfect. Best phone to use for that is Panasonic DJCQB0500009.

Does anyone know if the MJ+ uses g729. The first generation was only able to use g711 and it caused significant delays on spotty internet connections.

Re: Good by MJ I was going to get MJ+ and port my home number but I recently found Voipo (www.viopo.com). It's 100% US based (out of CA) and while it's $6 more a month, you get 4X as much from them as MJ. (including TWO lines and multiple voicemail mailboxes) I have regular MJ and I only use it for voicemail for Craigslist and such. I don't even have it hooked up it's in my computer junk draw, lol.
You do have to pay for 2 yrs at a time for Viopo, but it's worth it, I think. |
