Elite DSL plan speed

I've been on the ATT Elite DSL plan for years. I recently noticed a significant decrease in upload speed. Download speed seemed slower also but not as significant. I've run several speed tests at multiple sites and get the same general numbers:

ATT technician came out last week and left a note on the front door that my internet problem is now "fixed". Speed tests still are exactly the same.

The Elite option is touted as 3-6 Mbps download speed and 768 kbps upload. I'm getting ripped off if these speed tests are accurate. I'm thinking of moving down to the Pro plan if the most I can get with Elite is around 3 Mbps and horrible upload speed. Any ideas on this? Thanks

Please post your modem stats. Then we can more fullly assess your speed problem.

It is very rare for upload throughput speeds to be slower than their full ~85% of sync speeds.

I've got an old Westell Wirespeed modem and I just read how to run the stats. I'm green at this. I put in launchmodem and also tried »192.168.1.1 that I found on how to run stats and nothing comes up on the browser.

I'm using a Linksys wireless router --WRT54G. Hope I don't have to unhook that to proceed.

I think you will have to disconnect the router.

There are other permanent set up methods for accessing the modem: »SBC DSL FAQ »How do I access the modem GUI thru a router - advanced methods? These instructions were designed for the Speedstream modems, but should work on yours if the IPs are changed appropriately.
