| Problems with Multi-part SMS I'm new here but was hoping that some others might have some ideas, or be experiencing the same problem.
I have a few people that I text back and forth with who are on Sprint/NEXTEL. I will get from time to time multi-part SMS messages from them but I will only receive the beginning or end of the message and not the whole message. I've talked with Verizon about this issue and they have yet to give a resolution to this problem. I've done the usual stuff, battery pull, re-register the phone, etc. and then for a little bit (few hours to few days) I have no problem receiving the multipart sms messages and then randomly it breaks again. To add further issues to the mix, I have a 4G Thunderbolt and I'm usually but not always in 4G coverage. Also, these are not MMS messages. Just sms messages that exceed 160 characters.

kudos:1 | SMS can't exceed 160 characters, according to spec. Going from one carrier to a different carrier, there will likely be issues. When it stays within a carrier's network, i.e. Sprint to Sprint or VZW to VZW, they are able to accommodate it. |
