USG 20W/ IE9/ Unable to view HTML firewall screen

I messed with some settings on my new USG 20W which locked me out of the device. Whoops! When I got everything back in working order again I could view all HTML pages in the device except for the firewall page. After a few hours of Googling I found a few others reporting the same thing, but no solution.

I finally figured out that I COULD view the page if I opened the browser in InPrivate Browsing mode, which eventually led me to a solution which worked.

I browsed to the router's html page. I hit F12 in the browser to open the development tools. Under Cache I chose to clear session cookies, clear cookies for domain and clear browser cache for this domain.

I have since had no problems accessing the firewall HTML page in the router - I guess somehow I ended up with corrutped files in the cookies and/or browser cache. I figured I'd post what I did in case it helps someone else at some point.

Reports of browser problems have also occurred when the firmware is updated. It seems to be browser dependent and usually clears when the browser's USG cookies are deleted.

Well, part of what I went through to get the router back online was re-uploading the firmware, as well as resetting the unit to defaults. (Though I don't believe I actually uploaded the firmware until after the issue with the firewall screen was apparent; my memory could be failing me though.)

For no reason I can figure, this happened again a few hours later. I deleted the cookies again ("clear cookies for domain") and it's been working fine since. So far at least.

Oh and yeah, part of what I learned when trying to fix the problem is that it was browser dependent. I could access it from IE browsers on two other computers no problem, and as mentioned above finally learned that I could access it from the "problem computer" if I opened an InPrivate browser window. That is what finally led me to the solution. Sadly, it was a very slow process for me. /sigh

Clearing the browsers cache and cookies should solve the issue.
