[Help Me] Configure DSL-2680 for Voip

Hi,
I'm trying to use my D-Link DSL-2680 router with my VoIP phone system. Phone get registered fine and I can make outgoing calls as well. Incoming calls also works if I receive a call soon after making an outgoing call.
But if the phone is left idle, without any incoming or outgoing calls, I cannot receive incoming calls.
When I contacted my VoIP provider, they say it may be how NAT and SIP ALG setup on my router. I'm not very good at router technologies. But it sound like when the phone register with VoIP provider, router supply the initial port numbers. But then router changes the port number later on, that's the reason why my my phone cannot receive incoming calls.
Not sure whether this is the reason or how to fix it. Any help or advice on this is greatly appreciated.

Might need to set up some port forwarding maybe and see if there is a SIP enable or disable option under Firewall settings maybe. If there is, try turning it off or on and test.

Disable the router NAT SIP should solve your problem.

Thanks for the info.
I found a workaround to it by disabling SIP ALG by telnet into the router and entering the command "ip nat service sip sw off"

But this needs to be done everytime the router is powered off and on.

Is there anyway that I can make that router change permenant?

If there isn't a UI option for this in the web page, then probably not. Might try to disable styles in your web browser after you log into the modems web page and see if its a hidden menu item. If not, then you might be out of luck.
