 | Looking for wireless gamepads Ive been playing alot of PS2 games emulated from my PC. I`m lookin for two PS2 style wireless game pads that i can use to game on from my couch about 10 feet away. Must have Win 7 64bit compatibility.
Logitech has some but they are like 45 bucks each which is extremely high for a gamepad imo that the kids will drop, beat up etc.
I`m looking at these on Ebay from a Hong Kong seller. I`d rather not have to buy from Hong Kong Ebay if i didnt have to.

| I don't buy them from Ebay, however. Big difference.
While you're at it, try the $0.99 pack of batteries sold from a Chinese ebayer and let me know how they work out. -- If we lose this freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment, those who had the most to lose, did the least to prevent its happening. |

 | reply to mythology Prob just as good as the cheap 30 pack at Dollar General. Better than the triple the price Energizer brand. Kind of like the 15 dollar 50ft HDMI cable i got a month ago that's worked flawlessly compared to $135 dollar one at Home Depot.
Prob like the $5 dollar mini bluetooth dongle i got from Ebay compared to the $25 dongle at Walmart. Maybe it will work like all the rest of the cheap Chinese shit i have in my house? Do you have a preference of which slave shop your cheap Chinese plastic is made in? Please do share. |

The hdmi cable is digital so it only needs to get the signal from point a to b to work... I will also bet you the rubber is shit...(try to bend it tight)
The batteries do not last as long (Never seen no name crap last as long)
The dongle I bet you never tested it's max range...
I have a hong kong laptop power adaptor, and a CHINA one.
Hong kong I broke the rubber coming out of the brick day one. China one, is a good 2 years old. In fact the rubber is SO bad, I tossed the 3 prong wall cable in the trash for worry of a fire hazard day one...
Made in china one, I have no worries about (still would prefer made in usa but)
= not =
I would not waste my time with that hong kong crap. |

The HDMI cable that wont bend along side of my cat5e that wont work. =-p |
I beg to differ. No problems bending here. Connectors are high quality. Signal is top quality. The DG home alkaline batteries last just as long if not longer than Energizers. Been buying them for 7 years. With two boys and countless battery operated toys i swear by the DG alkalines.
My BT dongle works fine at 10ft - 15ft. Not sure of the max but i wont be playing any Wii 30 ft from my TV.
I also just want to point out that Hong Kong is part of China. Maybe you are thinking Japan? LOL
If you read my post. Im not defending cheap crap that wont work. Im just pointing out that most cheap China crap is from the same place that the high dollar China crap is from and works just as good.
The majority of Logitechs controllers are from China as well. I`m just not dumping a $100 on two game controllers. Thats insane. I can get two PS3 controllers and use them and that would come out cheaper. |

I`m just not dumping a $100 on two game controllers. Thats insane. I can get two PS3 controllers and use them and that would come out cheaper. I understand your point. We all use stuff made in East Asia. However, while the quality control apparent (barely, in some cases) in products coming from established companies (Logitech, for instance), is non-existent in the cheap knock-offs made by former employees or opportunistic businessmen with no respect for IP.
Intellectual piracy is rampant in places such as China and Mexico, and these cheap(er) knockoff copies get sold to gullible Western buyers via sites like Ebay.
My point for criticizing your choice of gamepad is to save you the probable frustration of dealing with generic knock-offs made in the Orient that probably don't perform on spec and will likely die and early death.
In this arena, YMMV, but you get what you pay for. For instance, you can get a Logitech wireless controller for $38. Sure it's three times as much as your no-name generic controller from Hong Kong on Ebay, but at least there's a company willing to stand behind it and cover it under warranty.
(Also note your Hong Kong gaming pad uses a USB hub with a 10ft range--likely line-of-site IR, whereas the Logitech uses 2.4 GHz wireless and probably works out to around 30 ft).

On a related note, if you find some name-brand cologne or Gucci accessories for $4.99 + shipping, you may want to pass on that too. -- If we lose this freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment, those who had the most to lose, did the least to prevent its happening. |

matt5 join:2001-10-06 Lagrangeville, NY | reply to mythology Wow... a less than 90 bend... with a what, 5 inch radius?
You so proved me wrong, try doing a 360, 2 inch radius.
Am I thinking of japan... rofl, right... as mentioned you know what QC is?
This cheap hong kong ebay shit, has NONE, the china shit at least has some QC when coming from a real company.
The USB cable that came with my phone, china, can bend it all around rubber does not break... I bring you right back to the hong kong ebay special power adaptor that broke on day one. I think it was the second time I wrapped it up the outside rubber broke and you could see the wires inside the covering... cheap SHIT.
I'd like to see you buy a vga cable lol... something where cable quality matters in picture quality... |

KrisnatharokCaveat EmptorPremium join:2009-02-11 Earth Orbit kudos:3 | HDMI cables are a different boat than electronic devices like gamepads. My $5 HDMI cable from Amazon is as good as the $100 Monster cable from Best Buy. |
|
 | reply to matt5 I run a 15ft VGA cable to an older 20 inch Acer monitor from my second 5770. The cable is from the same supplier as my HDMI cable. I have it running around trim the same as the HDMI cable. No problems what so ever.
Anyone who bends a cable at 90 degrees is a fool any way and begging for issues. You know, theres a reason they make 90 degree adapters... Post me a picture of a HDMI cable with a 90 degree bend in it playing a blu-ray. You post some ignorant shit Matt5. |
|
matt5 join:2001-10-06 Lagrangeville, NY | O how I would if I had anything that ran HDMI, as rofl @ 90 degrees stopping the cable from working, if it does, that really shows how much SHIT it is... unless you failed to see the part about giving you a radius for the bend Every cable I own does a 90, straight out, and ends up going straight down...
You enjoy your china shit, I looked for that POS hong kong cable was gona break it again just for you! next to a REAL cable, tie the real one in a damn knot with no damage where the china one falls apart after a little bend.
I mean, you went to home depot, for a HDMI cable.
Um, okay.
You ignored the whole part about digital vs analog, the outside coating... you enjoy like i said that hong kong shit.
You were already told, your POS hong kong thing is likely a IR controller where a REAL controller is running 2.4ghz wireless.
HUGE difference.
IR not = to wireless.
O ya a $5 hdmi cable will work as good as any cable, because as I said... it is *digital* the signal either works or does not... however the outside coating it a different story (I'd not bend it very tight). VGA is analog, a better quality cable would actually make a difference.
O and how could I forget, do you know what switches are being used in each controller? Cause you know they do have different quality switches rated for a different number if presses.
Buy what you want, no one is going to find something good for the price of a knock off. |
|
 | reply to mythology Reaffirmed. Ignorant. No ones defending cheap Ebay crap Matt5. The whole purpose of the thread was for me to see if any cheaper alternatives to high priced logitech controllers exist.
Your "bending" argument is null since anyone who has any experience running cable knows thats a big no-no to do an outright 90 degree bend. You can tie knots with your awesome overpriced cables if you want but quite frankly, I think you are delusional.
Also. You may want to call »www.cmple.com/ and tell them to shut down their million dollar business because obviously there cheap cables just dont do right angle bends and will never send a digital signal. |
