thats a huge jump,you sure you did not have some sort of permotion that expired. usually price increase for service is around $5 not $17

A single mom I know estimated her bill will increase by 25%, about $24.75, with all the increases in charges, fees, and taxes. That killed any idea of her upgrading to an HD DVR service or faster internet tier. She had drooped regular POTS and DSL to get Cox TV and internet. Cut back on the cell phone plan also. If another increase like that occurs I think she will be installing DirecTV or a roof mounted antenna for OTA. She hates the look of those things. So she would be pretty fed up with Cox's prices to do those things.

I had a 12 mo. promo for premier at 45/mo. I got the 64.99 new price in my bill today as well. Back at preferred now.

yep internet in this country is getting very expensive and we have stupid data caps and how often are speeds upgraded more than just 5mbps rarely

maybe 5mbps a year increase but end up having to pay more for it

why cant we get at least 10mbps increase on the download and at least a few on the upload every year for a few more dollars than that would constitute the price

No promo were on last month or this month. these prices just showed up on this months statement.

I'm no billing expert but I did take a look at it appears a promotion of some sort is still being applied to the services in question. You may wish to speak with billing for further clarification.

I'm just saying that when I looked at the account those two services were highlighted meaning they aren't being billed at the standard rate. Our account services team could explain better as to why. I will say the "before" prices you mentioned are far less than what I'm used to seeing.

That's if cox doesn't give me any answer and no it won't depend on the rep I talk to if they can't answer me this .

I will go as far to get wind stream since Cox is a total monoploy in my area.

I'm from CA and this is the reason I cancelled my COX service last December and switch to another provider. When I first try to cancel COX service, they just talked me into keeping the service (i.e. the other company is just a 1 year promo and that it will go up after a year) but did not really give me any savings. A few months later, I received a letter saying that they will be increasing their prices. So, I decided to switch and save $35 a month for a year with more channel and faster internet connection.

After getting the new service connected, I called COX to cancel and the rep tried to talk me into keeping the service again by giving me a few dollars discount but I said it is too late and that I am happy with the new service. I am now COX free for 3 weeks and have already received a few phone calls from COX and a letter stating that they will give me 50% off for 6 months. I just ignored the letter and toss it to the trash.

The problem, I have with Cox is that once you are in, you really can't get discounts anymore unless you threaten them of cancelling your service. With my new provider, I know that I can just call them after the promo expires and switch to the new promo they have available at that time. I've done it before with my DSL on my old home address and I was told by a friend of mine that they still do it today with their new service and never had problem switching from 1 promo to another.

I can get Internet from somewhere else with a Price lock until 2014 knowing it wont go up on me ever freaking year. or get internet/satellite/phone price Guaranteed never to go up.

Some will say yeah but you will get lower speeds that's fine, this offsets the price increase.

FL/GA (we seem to be one..) typically don't see their rate hikes till march. what you probably had was a promotional deal. Try to call cox and see if you can get 6 months half off or a discounted rate.

I'm curious about the speed hikes for this year are, hopefully cap hikes as well.
