Hey Martin, just wondering if there is any further news on this from Bell.

I'm currently discussing the situation with some Bell contacts. I've provided a list of about 8 users with the same symptoms. They are looking... so progress is being made. Albeit maybe not as fast as some would like, it's still being happening.

I'm having the same issues. I've watched my router shut off and turn back on, don't need no stinking logs.

Re: Remote Cellpipe firmware updates

Any chance of you popping a cellpipe open and posting some high res pics of the insides? I don't really want to break the case on one of mine as they will eventually be going back to Bell but I would love to see what chips we've got and how the console port is connected. Might be able to work out the pinout for it and get into the thing that way.

This is happening to me as well. Service drops multiple times per day. The sooner this gets fixed the better - the SO is giving me grief.

Re: Remote Cellpipe firmware updates

You can't JTAG a modem or mess with its firmware legally, (Even if you own it outright.) the firmware is usually proprietiary and belongs to the modem manufacturer & liscensed to the ISP for use on their networks.

Your own router on the other hand is a whole other story.

Opening the Cellpipe's case

Sorry, I won't. I looked at the case, and there are no visible screws, so it looks like the only way to do it is to pry the thing open at the seams.

Thanks anyway. I don't see any issue with connecting a cable to a port on the device and seeing what options it presents me with. But I guess that's not going to happen at this point anyway.

Ultimately all I want is a pair of working modems.

Just to update, I also have the same issue with my Cellpipe. Would like some resolution on this as well...

For reference, FW is also:

Firmware Version> v1.0.4.4R3WH
Release Date> 2011/09/16 12:00

Well another week is nearly done. Any word?

I would really like to be able to A) stop worrying about my line dropping during something important B) maybe even be able to connect my second line to the MLPPP bundle... You know use that second line I'm paying for...

just keeping an eye on this thread. not happy with it's lack of progress with so many people with the exact same issues with the same firmware...

i'm about 10 days into my 30 day cancelation notice to bell. the cellpipe that's on bell just reboots all over the place. i rarely use it though.

sagemcom has rebooted once this year on it's own. since it didn't happen a second time, i didn't investigate, it's been at least a week of stability.

bell may be fine taking the wrong modem in 20 days, they may want to charge me. either way, i don't care. i need a fast stable internet connection and if i have to pay $100 signup, +$8 modem rental + $x modem not returned fee, whatever.

I'm in the same boat - it sucks that we cannot:

1) get a timely resolution to this issue - I reported it over a month ago which was after weeks of frustration and eliminating issues on my end.

2) purchase our own (working) modem for use with this service

Martin, TSI & Co. - When can we get an acceptable resolution to this issue?

Yeah, I've now had at least 4 drops in the last 24hrs. It's getting rather ridiculous.

On Wednesday after yet another random reboot I had to cold-boot (power cycle) my Cellpipe to reestablish connectivity.

This is getting silly.

Guess I will give this a bump as I am also experiencing the random reboots on my Cellpipe with the 25/7 service.

I have a router in front of the modem, so AFAIK I can't access the logs, but I have actually watched it happen a couple of times.

Really unfortunate to be paying a rental fee on a modem with problems to which there is no solution at hand!

Plug your PC's ethernet cable into the modem. Then access the modem at 192.168.2.1 via the broswer. The logs will be accessible.
