2 edits | [Qwest] Sharedband review FAST BONDED INTERNET! I got Sharedband!
Sharedband perform a kind of bonding of any type of internet connection, in my case two DSL lines. But they can combine DSL and cable, FioS, Wireless, any broadband.
I have interleaving turned off on both DSL lines, both having a speed of 7Mbps Down 896Kbps Up.
My setup includes 2 DSL modems and 2 WRT54GL routers flashed with their firmware, a router connected to each modem, and together.
I flashed their firmware onto 2 WRT54GL routers I got but they will sell you pre-setup WRT54GL, or D-Link routers for faster connections.
Centurylink/Qwest is still my ISP I pay them for the lines.
They give you a single static IP, 250 GB (soft cap), $25 per month, includes two lines in the pro plan.
Give this company a try they work well and their staff is really nice. »us.sharedband.com
Everything loads much better!
Total monthly costs for 11-12MBps/1.4Mbps for me is $20 DSL1 (includes discount) + $20 DSL2 (dry, loop promotion) + $25 Shareband, = $65 Could be better, but unlikely to ever get any better with rural Qwest.
I looked into a real DSL bonding company, it would cost twice as much.. Any questions, let me know.

 | Would this work with centurylink? From the website it looks like it should, as it just looks like you are basicly connecting through a specialized proxy server using multiple connections. If this works it looks like this would be an incredible option for those who are too far out to recieve anything faster. |
|
 | Yes! It works with ANY ISP! It seems to me like a VPN connection to their servers combines it from there really great speeds. I love it. |

tobyTroy Mcclure join:2001-11-13 | reply to Technicholas What are the type/brand/model of routers you are using?
How do you get your DSL lines to only cost $20 per month? |
|
 | reply to Technicholas Tenhnicholas, Are you still enjoying Sharedband. I am thinking about using them when we move, and I would like to know if you have still been having a good experiance with them. Thanks. |
|
 | Sorry for the late reply, I am still enjoying them! Youtube video's are loading fast! I'm getting 10-11mbps currently! |
|
 | reply to toby @Toby The modem's are 2 PK5000 modem's from Qwest you can use whatever modem you want.
The two routers they wanted me to get were a Linksys WRT54GL.
How do I get lines for $20 a month? I've been a customer with Qwest for over then 18 years.... First line has the 5 year price lock.... with home phone, 2nd line is some promotion they were doing $20 for 6 months if I liked the after 6 month's I call in and get another one....
Any other questions let me know! |

1 edit | is there any way you could post pics of your setup up.and how does this work exactly you have your two modems then those connect to the two routers and from there is there just an Ethernet cable coming from one of the routers you can plug into your own router wan port? |
|
 | Once I get home I will post picture's of the setup,
This is how I can describe it. I have two modem's from Qwest/Centurylink PK5000's I plug a ethernet cable into the port on the modem and then i go to the internet port on the router, the other modem is the same on the 2nd router, then one router connects to the other router by ethernet cable port 1 to port 2 on the switch, then i take a ethernet cable from one of those and plug it into my switch very odd setup but it works good.
I have attached their setup guide that may help.

 | thanks the max speed here is 1.5 mbps and we already have two lines first is in another persons name for just phone service and the 2nd is in my name for internet so i would have to see if cl would run a third line to my house from the pedestal. I dont if its worth it for 3.0mbps but maybe.but if somehow i get a third line with dsl and get dsl on the first line i could have 4.5 mbps but that probably a lot of money a month. |
|
 | Try it it's worth it! |
|
 | Update »www.speedtest.net/result/1702504185.png Still running great. |

|
Bump join:2001-09-09 Chambersburg, PA | I'm with CenturyLink.
We pay full price for the 1st line and 1/2 price for the 2nd line. It is like $ 67 a month that is 20MB + the one time modem cost. |
|

|
 | You see the qwest market won't let you do MLPPP multilink DSL coming soon i hear.... but we'll see. |
