ICS is Identification Sorting Center

Over 9,000 barcode sorters have been retrofitted with an Identification Code Sort (ICS) upgrade kit. The ICS System enables mailpieces with unreadable POSTNET barcodes to be sorted using the unique mailpiece identification tag and the piece's associated ZIP Code. The ICS System eliminates the need to re-label and reprocess these mailpieces, saving two additional passes through the barcode sorters as well as associated labor and label material costs.

The ICS system now connects all of our existing barcode sorters, including Delivery Bar Code Sorters, Carrier Sequence Bar Code Sorters, and Mail Processing Bar Code Sorters. Approximately 1,700 ICS computers are linked together via three ICS Electronic Post Office Servers to provide ID Tag/ZIP data to all letter mail barcode sorters across the country.

If you want the correct replies from anyone to your original post just admit you messed up the original post and move on!

I wonder if I should have to go to the post office to pick this up? It's been at arrived at unit since yesterday (9th) and it's 2:22 Pm now and still no package... It's a decent larger sized package.

How long did it take to move out of ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) to your local post office for delivery?

This one is taking longer than usual:
Processed Through Sort Facility
January 30, 2012, 9:11 pm
ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)
Registered Mail™

...and this one, coming through the Jersey facility, seems lost forever:
Processed through USPS Sort Facility
January 20, 2012, 1:35 pm
JERSEY CITY, NJ 07097
Registered Mail™

I have an on-site supervisor at the Jersey facility investigating and he said the bar code likely came off during processing or if it it was damaged, it was sent to what is basically a "dead parcel" area in Atlanta, Georgia.

Normally, the parcels from Jersey move along to the local post office for delivery the next day.

Both parcels originated in Turkey.

Took 5 days and it spent an extra day at my post office in which they delivered the next day so all in total 6 days it sucks..

Good luck on trying to get it

I don't think I ever had this issue with EMS service.

Believe it or not, the parcel I thought I would never see from New Jersey just arrived now.

It had been opened for inspection and was a bit battered, but otherwise safe and sound. I certainly believe the inspector who helped me at the NJ facility was instrumental in receiving the parcel at all.

Okay, thank you for the NY time-frame. I will give it until Monday to start asking questions.
