| Any issues using CC on Verizon FiOS? Our apartment building is being wired for FiOS and I plan to move from Time Warner to FiOS when it's available. My wife has a business phone line and it is my understanding that we won't be able to move this over to FiOS as we can only move the residential phone service. I was thinking of moving her line to CC (we use CC at a weekend home and are happy with it) but want to check to make sure that it will work on FiOS. Has anyone done this? |

 | reply to bhan261 OK...just wondering if Verizon is blocking any ports. The service we have at our weekend home is on Cablevision (Optimum) and it works fine. |

| I can't answer directly as like you my service is Cablevision (Optimum).
BUT---
Look at it this way.
If Verizon FiOS were blocking outside VoIP companies, it wouldn't just be CallCentric.
It would also be the folks like Vonage---in fact, it would ESPECIALLY be folks like Vonage because they are so big.
Now, Verizon FiOS is huge in metro NY, and Vonage is as well.
I think that if there was an issue, we'd have heard about it. |

| reply to bhan261 Also here's some related info:
We are a video surveillance/POS Integration company with multiple lines. We are paying about $260/month for 4 lines, so we started using our FiOS connection for voice calls with Callcentric. So far, the only issues we've had has been misconfiguration on our side using 3CX as our internal PBX and of course our wireless headsets, but that's not Callcentric's fault. We have asked over 50 customers about the quality of the call and 100% have indicated it's no different than it was before using conventional land line.

My (CallCentric) experience in the Boston region has been good. I had one report of slight echo while using a portable home phone. I use a gnu-linux ubuntu system behind a Fios router. I do not appear to be having any problems associated with being behind 2 NATs, the router and the ATA. I am using a Grandstream 402. So far there is no sales pressure, contracts, extra charges, or anything that would signal a problem with the service. I ported my landline number within 7 working days. »Review of Callcentric by gehre |
