Oh boy oh boy... this is going to turn into a bloody mess. KvF must be happy he packed it in.

Now they want speed matching to be enforced at the Disaggregated POI's ,which is fair, since Rogers is so bloody slow getting the aggregated one off the ground.

Of course I expected the Bell companies to object, they've already factored the profits they're going to make into next quarter's earnings.

Somebody must have been reading my posts, they want the ###'s revealed...

This is going to be an interesting winter/spring coming up.

We can let you guys go ahead with the part I, but you should know that in doing so any extra things we need to implement mean we are going to ask for higher rates.

Let me help you with your shovel...

Cable carriers say delay it because there may be some extra charges we can add if we have to do things in a timely matter

Bell certainly doesn't want to provide legacy-GAS at $14.11 unless they get their $2213/100Mbps capacity rate to cover the $6/month cut on access fees.

Wonder how many ISPs will defer their new pricing and plans until the new deadline if the new tariffs end up delayed by three more months. I bet some people are going to have a hard time taking 3rd-party ISPs seriously if they end up announcing and withdrawing changes because of stunts like that.

Tough choice. They've gotta pick whether they want low pricing on lower speeds and high pricing on higher speeds (and Quebec cable), or high pricing on low speeds and medium pricing on higher speeds (and cable).

There are a number of ISPs who resell connectivity to other ISPs, including a well known Chatham based one
I know few of us take the CRTC seriously, but I still think you should have written the obvious company's actual name. Your way seems a little unprofessional.

EDIT: Changed "none" to "few".

That's because Bellusobbers wants to bleed the 3rd Party providers dry so they can keep their grip on Canada.

Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe it'll last long enough that Bell will give up and decide to play fair.

Hmm... your submission makes too much sense, especially the last sentence of paragraph #21. Are you sure that B$ell put stuff in your coffee during your breakfast with them a while back?

I think Bell may have purchased "Red Bull" with the intent of lacing it with their Kool Aid to influence me....

Little do they know that the stuff I call "Red Bull" has the word "Monster" written on the can

So that reminds me of the "Never Go in Against a Sicilian When Death Is on the Line" scene in the Princess Bride for that breakfast kool aid drinking scene.

Summary of positions on the CNOC Part 1 process:

MTS does not mind interim approval for its service. (no position on Bell's service)

Cable Carriers want delay in implementation.

CAIP: Want delay, not realistic to implement Feb 1

Bell Canada: delay implementation until May 1.

CNOC: Rejects a delay in implementation. Wants capacity based implemented with business traffic using the same realm and with capacity adjusted.

Vaxination: proposed a slightly different way from CNOC but with same big idea: allow business to use same realm as residential for now by boosting residential capacity by an amount calculated based on number of business customers.

EBOX response make a lot of sense too. If a company does it's job to support CRTC changes on time, it should not be penalized if other are not ready.

eBox forgot to mention the legal requirement of 30 days minimum notice from consumer protection laws in Quebec, meaning that on top of the accounting/billing inconvenience, they may also end up legally screwed.

I agree.

And on the flip side, if they keep letting things slide, in the future no one will do things on time. Why do it on time only to get punished?
