 | Usg 100 firmware v3.00 Hello, I heart that in firmware v3.0 the dhcp scope option is supported and it will be releases in january 2012. Can anyone confirm this? Is there a beta, i really need the scope option. Or is there another way to make scope options, editing the dhcp.conf if it exists? thnks |

 | reply to Ivom74 My network contains wyse thin clients. With dhcp you can give the ipadress of a ftpserver where the thinclients can get there configfile. (wnos.ini).
Windows 2007 servers you can do this with scopeoptions in the Dhcpservice. Mozerd is talking about Option, is the same i think. |

So basically its an additional capability to standard dhcp serving or dhcp relay type functions where you can send clients (IP addresses) other sorts of information that they may require in the dhcp process.
Has this been a missing feature compared to competitors routers? How did zyxel admins get around this without this feature? -- Ain't nuthin but the blues! "Albert Collins". Leave your troubles at the door! "Pepe Peregil" De Sevilla. Just Don't Wifi without WPA, "Yul Brenner"

|
 | Yes, at home I use the DHCP server in my GW.
In the office I have three DHCP servers running, its an overkill, since we are still only 5 people here, but hey
I got 2 Windows servers that runs, where one is backup in case the other fails.
And I got another one, really cool one, that is used for our lab/course/training room.

So you really need firmware 3.0 very badly then. Its a wonder you have survived without it. |

|
 | reply to Ivom74 I do not know what is coming in 3.0 and I do not even have a USG. My old Z5 is still rocking
But for our office, I doubt that the DHCP options available in the USG will be enough, that is without knowing what actually is coming... -- "Perl is executable line noise, Python is executable pseudo-code."

 | reply to Ivom74 Itnmustbbe enough and i saw a screenshot of it. I now use tftpd32 softwate what does the trick for 50 thin clients. 2.5 years with 0,0 problems .
But it,s an old notebook with windows, imprefer the usg 100, which also has never been down in that time. |
