Wife and I were getting groceries at Killingly Stop & Shop when a car and SUV got into an accident in the parking lot (well, sorta road in front of McDonald's), and the SUV flipped upside down. I didn't see it happen, but saw the immediate results before EMS showed up as we were walking out... never seen a rollover accident in a parking lot before... hope all occupants are safe.
i was in the tj maxx parking lot when i heard all the commotion....i drove over to check it out i heard that the 2 cars had collided and the blue card (one that rolled) hit the curb once they hit and thats what made it roll over...was a old lady i believe in the car felt bad made me think of my grandmother....was sad and scary. one guy came up to me and told me how he was in a accident last year 3 days before christmas in the same area.....personally i hate the way the parkin lot is set up but of course it probably will never change no matter how many accidents they have to have before someone will do something. but thats my opinon lol
They need to make each of the intersections 4-way stops. The cost of a few stop signs could save a lot of injuries.
The whole design of the parking and traveling areas there is pretty dangerous.... I've seen some accidents and some close calls and almost been part of an accident multiple times. Something should be done to make that complex safer.
reply to JimCT I recall reading somewhere that according to auto insurance stats, most accidents occur in parking lots. I don't recall now if that meant most dollars, most number of incidents, or both.
Even more phun phacts - women are statistically much safer drivers than men. (On the other hand, they haven't met my wife the Honda carrier pilot.)
