| Adding a second video card I've been eyeing an OK priced GTX 560ti 448 ($238 I think) and I was wondering what kind of performance gains I'd be getting over my 9800gtx+...
Other question; last time I was screwing around with the Arkham asylum settings it implied I could use one card for the game and another to run the PhysX aspect of it, any benefits to doing this, or is the 560 powerful enough to run all of this therefore making my 9800 redundant?
Last question, I dual boot Ubuntu and Windows 7 are there any foreseeable issue with having two supported cards on Ubuntu that any of you have encountered... it'd be annoying to have to disable one of the cards every time I boot into Linux
Cheers and thanks for your input. -- I'm watching District 9 again, and I've come to realize something: Wikus's got it all wrong. If I were morphing into a 9 foot tall hyper-dextrous alien that can shoot lightning bolts and get high off cat food why would I ever want to become human again? |

physix... not sure, the card may have enough power to see no gains running the 9800 I would TBH google reviews or test it.
As far as running two cards that far off... eh... No idea... |

As far as running two cards that far off... eh... No idea... Thanks for replying, I actually found the card for $178 CAD which is better that I thought originally, also I did find a thread saying that it would completely obsolete my 9800gtx+
quote: As I'm writing this, I am seeing something called FluidMark ( which is suppsed to benchmark the PhysX performance. So I think I will use this to test the 560Ti by itself and then with the 9800GTX+.
FluidMark 1.4.0 560Ti FBB single 5078 / 83FPS 560Ti FPB with 9800GTX+ 4838 / 79FPS

Other question for you... should I wait for the gtx 600 series? Or am I looking at the best bang for my buck right now? -- I'm watching District 9 again, and I've come to realize something: Wikus's got it all wrong. matt5 join:2001-10-06 Lagrangeville, NY | I think it is going to be the 7xx and they are showing (bs or not idk) 2x performance over current 5xx... what really happens... who knows... aka 770 = 2x+ 570's... I really have no kept up on that stuff since until we get REAL cards to look at... paper is paper... bulldozer was going to be the next best thing ever.... on paper.
Again... can not tell you what to do on that front you know how badly you need an upgrade, I do not. |

Again... can not tell you what to do on that front you know how badly you need an upgrade, I do not. Good to know... rumor has it that they're out in February. If I can confirm that I'll be waiting for sure -- I'm watching District 9 again, and I've come to realize something: Wikus's got it all wrong.
