Most people though are awaiting for the asus rt n66u (in Europe in December, coming to NA in Janauary) which is the bomb in terms of wifi and processing engine and flash etc....... It I believe already has some tomato bits in it as well. |

| reply to brxbmr Anav mentioned a couple of good ones. It's probably worth describing your definition of good. Are you looking for USB? routing speed? NAS speed? wifi speed? Range? Affordability? Gig LAN ports? These things will steer you toward one router choice or another. -- db |

 | thank you already, its difficult to sort thru all those threads on dd-wrt I am looking for great wireless speed, gig lan port, no big range required- 1 wood floor up... and easy to install firmware(tomato or ddwrt) |

| The WNR3500L meets your requirements. Its only real weaknesses are poor wireless range and no tftp firmware flashing, but the former won't be a problem in a small 2-floor place and the latter isn't the 'easy' way to flash anyway, so it might be a good choice for you. You can usually find one under $70, making it the most inexpensive in its class normally.
To flash it to Tomato you have to first flash it to dd-wrt, then flash it to Tomato (renaming the .trx file to .bin), then do a 30-30-30 reset after flashing Tomato. -- db |
