Standard router for static IP plans/latency on other IPs?

Good day all-

First, the primary question - does anyone know what router AT&T is currently shipping with their DSL Elite static service?

Now, the longer story:
I've been battling AT&T for several months now regarding ongoing issues with my service. I currently have their static (sticky) IP Elite (6016/768) plan, and I'm running an Actiontec GT701D in transparent bridging mode (modem-only), with PPPoE and routing being handled by a Cisco ASA5505.

To make a long story short, I began having issues with high packet loss (40-50%) inbound which was tearing up my VPN connections and anything else real time. This was traced down to congestion at the Redback, and new gig-e circuits were installed to help.

In the process, I completely rewired my home, with Cat5e from the NID to a patch panel in the attic, a Wilcom ADSL2+ whole-house filter, and a dedicated Cat5e drop to the modem. Everything from the NID to the modem is brand new, Cat5e. Line attenuation is now about 19dB down, 7dB up, and I'm about 1800ft. from the RT (according to AT&T - it's actually about 1K).

Now, after all that has been accomplished, I'm seeing good results to the gateway IP, but 70-80% packet loss on the other IPs in my subnet. Of course, they are hesitant to do anything since it could be a problem on my end. I've rebuilt the ASA config from the ground up, tried a different modem (Netopia 3346N-ENT), etc. No changes.

My next step is to buy whatever router they are currently shipping (without paying their hugely inflated price) and swap that in. Then, they can't say it's my network.

Thanks,
Terry

The motorola/netopia 3546, 3346 or 3347 works with the -S packages

Unfortunately, none of those are being manufactured any longer. The 2210, 2246, and 3346N-ENT are the only ones left... and they don't support the enterprise version. My Actiontec modem in bridge mode and my ASA5505 have worked just fine for years, as well... but they aren't officially AT&T supported, so they have room to say that the problem is on my end.

Thus my question - what is the *current* router being supplied with the static plan?

That is correct.....the motorola/netopia 3546, 3346 are still supported by att
The 2701HG-B also supports the -S plans as does the currently shipping motorola 3347

If you are calling tech support they have no way of knowing what equipment is being used

But they may tell you to report static to the POTS service people rather than the broadband support folk...

We still sell the 3347 -

Also, if the results are good to your Gateway IP (which is on your equipment with the way our sticky static service works) then its most likely an issue in your network causing the latency.

The issue was finally resolved, and it had nothing to do with my network.

Congestion issues at the RT - two new Gig-E drops to rectify that.
Flakiness with another one of the backhaul Gig-E drops to the RT already installed - replaced.
Corrupted CEF table in one of the core routers upstream (something Cisco 9000-class, from what I was told), resulting in a CPU card replacement.

All is well again, and I'm back to 13ms pings to my data center environment. Huzzah!

Now, maybe they will bring UVerse to town some day... 6016/768 (5100/600 after PPPoE) sucks.
