I like the Giants chances, especially since they played Green Bay very well in their last meeting. Plus the Giants run game is getting better and the secondary doesn't look as pathetic.

I hope Ross and Ware are back from their concussions in time to play.

The NFL has to be loving all the attention due to Tebow from yesterday. A corporate dream to have a product or event that will bring out new people to check out their product or event. The NFL, the broadcasters and advertisers are probably foaming at their mouths thinking of the amount of new eyeballs that would tune in to a Tebow quarterbacked Superbowl.

As for the Denver at New England game I predict Brady will prevail with a last second TD in regulation and the Patriots will win 107-106

Well, now that defenses will be aware that Denver is willing to let Tebow throw deep, that will change the defensive game plan.

Lebeau got schooled yesterday, and Ike Taylor, usually pretty reliable, had a horrible game.

I suspect that adjustments will be made by Belicheat to address this. And if that doesn't work, you can bet your sweet bippy that Baltimore's defense will adjust accordingly.

I can't see Houston getting past the Ratbirds in ratbirdland.

I think Nawlins will geaux into SF and send the other Harbaugh brother home this weekend.

And as much as I would like to see the gints knock off Green Bay, I don't see that happening either.

But I will wait to later in the week to make my playoff poll picks... I need to think these things through this week with a clear, detached, objective mind. I failed to do that last week, even though I was pretty sure the Cincy didn't stand a chance, and was very uneasy given the Stillers very tenuous injury situation and knowing that Ryan Clark would not be playing.

Not so fast Lawn Guylander...

Athletes that train at 5,280 feet of altitude on a regular basis tend to have increased endurance in your compressed sea level air.

Take it from someone who used to bicycle, ski, run and roller skate in a place that had a base elevation over 8,200 feet.

It wasn't just Ike Taylor. All the Steelers' defensive backs seemed to take one step towards the line of scrimmage, every play, in order to play the run first. That left them a step or 2 behind covering receivers all day.

I can't even stand hearing the name Tebow anymore. I wish he would give up football before the Pats game and become a full time Preacher. Amen.

You're gonna have to pretty much avoid all sports talk/TV for at least this week unfortunately. I would expect NE to win handily, but I thought that last weekend as well with PIT. NE may be able to change their defensive gameplan, but they've been weak on D most of the year. Their best defense is their own offense.

Yeah, I hear you. In fact, just commented about that in the poll thread.
Oh, and sorry about cutting out the first part of your quote....I'm trying to forget about that part of it.

And that pass for a TD win in OT I believe was only the first or second time in the entire game that Tebow passed on 1st down.

And if you're right (and I think you are), that's a brilliant play call. Sure as hell worked, whatever it was.

WHY? Lets look at Tebow apart from his faith. Isn't the dude like the ultimate underdog? Everyone looks at him and tells him he has no skills and he doesn't belong in the NFL. Then he goes out and wins games and makes plays. He overcomes his weaknesses that people tells him he has and wins. How can we not root for an underdog?

Well, that's the thing. There are times I'm all for the underdog. But the media and a lot of other people have grabbed hold of his whole 'faith' thing, and run with it big time. (Don't get me wrong, his particular faith has nothing to do with his ability as a professional football player, as far as I'm concerned). Funny thing is, even I somehow find myself sucked into this whole thing, and make references to his faith.
I'm not so sure he would be getting the media attention he's getting at this point if it weren't for just that.
I've seen a lot of players who were underdogs, and turned out to be phenomenal. Take Brady for example. If it weren't for the fact that Bledsoe got hurt in a game, we may have never heard of him at all...but the rest is history. Yet I don't recall him being in every sports headline in every newspaper in the whole country, day after day.
If I have any point at all (which I usually don't), it's that the amazing hype in this particular case is starting to get to me.

But what do I know. Maybe the football fan upstairs is controlling this whole thing after all.

After watching the Broncos on Sunday, I started thinking that they are a lot like the Panthers team that went to the Super Bowl. The league's best running game, a solid defense, and an inconsistent quarterback that's pretty good at throwing the long ball. Fox has been here before.
