So how does this affect Green Bay's play on Sunday, would seem to be the football side of the question. |

It reminds me of a Burt Reynolds movie...(can't remember the name of it at the moment, and I didn't bother looking it up), but he's drowning, and is praying he can make it to shore. And the closer he gets to shore, the less faith he has. He promises to go to church every day, if the Lord will only somehow get him there. And when he finally makes it safely to shore, he says something like: "Well, you probably don't care if I go to Church anyway". LOL! -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

| reply to Moorecards From ESPN
"The Baltimore Ravens will go to the Super Bowl this year. Correction: The Ravens had better get to the Super Bowl this year.
With playoff nemesis Pittsburgh out of the way, the biggest obstacle standing in the way of the Ravens and a trip to Indianapolis is themselves. Look around the remaining AFC playoff field, and there's a team that didn't have a winning record in the regular season (Denver Broncos), a team starting a third-string rookie quarterback (Houston Texans) and a team that has the AFC's worst defense (New England Patriots).
You know that Ray Lewis broke into his pregame dance when he saw what was left in the AFC. Baltimore starts its postseason by playing the Texans on Sunday after a bye week. It was only three months ago that the Ravens beat the Texans by 15 points after a bye week.
If the Patriots win the other AFC divisional-round game Saturday, the Ravens would have to play the AFC Championship Game in New England, where they beat Tom Brady and the Patriots by 19 points two years ago. If the Broncos work their magic again, the AFC Championship Game would be played in Baltimore, where the Ravens have won 10 straight.
Everything is set up for the Ravens this year. If they don't reach the Super Bowl now, they might never do so under coach John Harbaugh...."
So Edge, did Hensley just jinx 'em? |

jabarnutLight Years AwayPremium,MVM join:2005-01-22 Galaxy M31 kudos:2 1 edit | reply to Moorecards I do know this...the Ravens will certainly be one of my picks in the Poll. (No so sure just how yet, or for how many points), but I would really get a kick out of seeing Ray Lewis somehow win the whole thing before all is said and done. (And for him, it may be all said and done pretty soon). He's never really been at the top of my list of players I have followed so much, but rarely have I seen a player play with as much enthusiasm as he does. Lets go, Ray. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

I recall a recent game I get home and then check Yahoo sports for games in progress scores and New England is down like 21-0...only to have Brady and his offense win the game...but what is it about their defense that allows so many points to be scored against them? |

Seriously, he's right, although PIT beating NE and Baltimore hosting the AFCCG vs PIT would have been the ultimate theater. Not taking HOU for granted at all, no way, but the odds are pretty stacked against them it seems. Still that's why they play the games. And they have a formidable defense. This bye week has felt like an eternity.
I'm not really a fan of Flacco's comments to the press the other day, he shouldn't care what all his many many critics say. This is an incredible opportunity and likely Ray's last, probably Ed's too.
*Edit - I don't agree with the "might never do so under Harbaugh" comment though. |

jabarnutLight Years AwayPremium,MVM join:2005-01-22 Galaxy M31 kudos:2 1 edit | reply to Moorecards Ah man! I've mentioned this before, but I can't stand the late east coast starts on Sat. Why can't it be like the Sunday games? Why do I have to wait until 4:30 pm to see SF beat NO, when most don't think they can? Why do I have to wait until 8:00 pm to see NE finally send Tebow home for the season?
Oh well. At least I only have to wait until 1:00 pm tomorrow to see BAL win big time over HOU. Ah...And then, after I see the Giants in a big upset win over GB in the 'late' game, the waiting will have all been well worth it. Ok, maybe it's not so bad after all. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

3 turnovers in the first quarter is a bad way to start a game. |
