Can someone kindly advise me as to which third-party firmware with a OpenVPN server works well with the old Linksys WRT54GS, from a developer who keeps it up to date? I'm sure there are MANY people still using this router.
I'm coming across firmware with OpenVPN but they are outdated and I'm not good at Linux to update it and compile it.
I tried Tomato and it didn't have VPN. I then found TomatoVPN but the version seemed to be outdated.
I then flashed to dd-wrt-mini then -vpn and it seems to have both pptp and openvpn. I'm testing out pptp at the moment and seems to be working, I need to research about openvpn though as that appears to be more secure.
Unfortunately dd-wrt seems to have problems; I keep on getting connection time outs at random when applying settings. This never happened with Tomato.
