If the states can go after some UK guy who penetrated their systems 10 years ago looking for UFO's, they will dig you up when you die to stand trial for running a distro.

Best to say you just had mega-porn and leave it like that.

Do you think the following line supports 6mbps?

It should work just fine at 6meg.

Yes, the stats look good.

Thank you both for the reply! My ISP told me over the phone that my line couldn't handle it even though, from the statistics, it looked more than capable of handling 6mbps (~6.5-7mbps max).

Time to contact them again with the screenshot attached and requesting what they see from their end to compare if they say the same thing again. Hopefully, my line will be upgraded shortly!

I think it can handle a 7/0.8 Mbit/s profile, but unfortunately, the smaller ISPs can't offer that.

But Max theoretical speed will only go up when occupancy goes down, one is related to the other (inversely proportional type thing).

Huh?

Max theoretical is max theoretical, the only things that can change it is changes in modem quality (degradation of passive/active components, temperature changes, power source change, etc.), changes in line conditions (repairs, degradation, environmental conditions, etc.) and changes at the DSLAM. (repairs, aging, temperature, etc.)

Given constant equipment and line state, max theoretical will be constant regardless of what the sync rate may be.

RCO ~= sync rate / max theoretical

Sync rate goes up, RCO goes up, max theoretical remains practically unchanged since it is the same modem, same line and same DSLAM. The 2% difference could be caused by outdoors temperature and measurement error margins.

I've been told my line can't handle 6Mbps. The stats show otherwise. Any ideas why Bell wouldn't upgrade jfmezei? I was told if I put a deposit down Bell can do more tests.

From my Modem:

You should not have to put a deposit down. All Bell needs to do is change your line profile. By the looks of what you posted your line should be able to handle 6Mbps. with no problem. You are only 1 Km. from the slam. Your RCO is only at 38.0 so that gives you plenty of room to be raised to 6Mbps.
