[MW3] MW3 for PC out of control? How about the console version?

I grabbed MW3 for PC off Steam during their sale last week. I should have known better after seeing the multiplayer hacking mess that was ever-present in MW2 but figured it couldn't be any worse. Guess I was being naive... The aimbot and wall hack players have been dominant in more than half the games that I jumped into with the matchmaker mode. It's almost laughable watching an opponent's rifle fire bursts as it spins in all directions killing 3 or 4 players as you watch your death scene between kills. Or in other death scenes seeing the end of an opponent's rifle following you from behind a wall and firing before you even come around the corner. What a total waste of 40 bucks...

At least the option to play on dedicated servers with admins is present, and they do kick/ban when they see this stuff.

Does rampant cheating go on in the console versions?

I'm not sure you can even hack a console version. And why would you play this if BF3 is an option?

I'm prestige 5 on the PC and I've seen very little or just plain bad hackers.

I've been falsely accused of hacking almost on a daily basis.

Possibly jumping to conclusions?

Just giving you my opinion from my point of view.

Nah, I really don't look for this stuff, and I don't accuse people of doing it. This is just flat out obvious stuff that is replayed on the death cam. When I see it, I simply dump out of the match and go find another one. It's annoying, but at 62 years of age I don't get too broken up over it!

I seem to experience a good bit in regular TDM, but I play mostly hardcore Search and Destroy and other hardcore game modes as well with very little trouble. It also helps that I play with a specific group of people so we usually just hop in a dedicated server.

For the console version, I think some players have done something or I am just that bad at the game. But it is rare. Sometimes it is like I unload a whole clip into a guy and they don't die, but they one shot me.

That's called, bad aim.. haha just messing with you.

I've found most of the hacking I've run into was in Ground War games.

I mostly play TDM with some Kill Confirmed or Domination mixed in and haven't run into an absurd amount of hackers like people always claim.

This is what we like to call "LAG"

On your screen, you unloaded the whole clip and he shot you once. On his screen, you didnt even fire.

That's what I think. I am playing on wireless. No way to get my stuff set up hardlined right now. And most of the suspected hackers I see is in Ground War too. I play ground war the most. I like the 9v9 and the option to be able to change up the game type.

When me and 2-3 buddies play we do Drop Zone. That shit is fast paced and a lot of fun.

I played a few of the hardcore game modes last night and it all looked perfectly clean. I even ended up coming in second several times. I also gave kill confirmed a shot as JB suggested and didn't encounter any issues in the two matches I played. I got my butt kicked fair and square!

Looks like regular FFA and TDM are the main event for those who employ the easy to spot Aimbot and Wall hacks. Ah well, it's only a game, right?

i went 20-0 in a FFA and i was called a hacker. I went 35-1 in another match and was called a hacker/aimbotter/wall-hacker you name it.

There are a lot of skilled players out there, and there are even more bad players. gotta stop jumping the gun on the hacking line.

I played Ricochet Hardcore TDM last night for the first time. That is an intersting game. No map unless your team gets a UAV, respawn timer when you die and you can toggle through your teammates as a spectater while you are dead. Seems like the other players and yourself die a lot easier on this type of match. It was pretty fun.

There hasn't been any weapon/perk talk. What do you guys usually run?

-TDM/KC/and Dom I run the ACR with Impact and a Silencer / Javelon
Perks- Faster reloading, Hardline, and the one where you move faster while aiming down your sites.

-Drop Zone, I run the UMP45 with rapid fire and range / scorpion.
Perks-faster reloading, faster aiming, and the faster moving while aiming down your sites.

I run the support package most of the time with Advance UAV, Stealth Bomber, and Offsprey Airdrop. I sometimes do assault but it aggravates me when I get killed one kill away from a kill streak. There is nothing more annoying when I am about to send in my stealth bomber and bam! enemy EMP.

I am also a fan of the M14 but my ACR and UMP45 is autumn and I want to get them gold before I start using the M14 this time around. I have prestiged once and I am lvl 70 and probably won't prestige again.

I'm mostly a TDM player. Always have been and I even tho i'll play other types from time to time, I always end up back in TDM. I also play Kill Confirmed & Domination. Very few Demolition games but sometimes I'll play that.

I'm currently Prestige 5 - around level 60.. Yes.. I play a lot....

I have a few go to class setups.

My most used is:

Primary - Type 95 with Attachments - Red Dot Sight & Rapid Fire (shoots the 3 round bursts faster)
Secondary - Stinger (I hate helicopters!)

Semtex & Stun Grenades

Perks - Scavenger Pro (I hate running out of ammo) - Assassin Pro & Marksman (like being able to see red names further away)

Strike Package (Assault) - Predator - Precision Airstrike - Attack Helicopter

This is usually what my setup looks like for any Assault Rifle I use (ACR, Scar-L, M4A1, etc etc)

My second most used class is:

Primary - UMP45 with Kick - Rapid Fire or Silencer depending on the game.
Secondary - USP pistol

Throwing Knife & Flash grenades

Perks - Scavenger Pro - Hardline Pro - Dead Silence Pro

Strike Package (Specialist) - Assassin Pro - Quickdraw Pro - Extreme Conditioning

I've earned a M.O.A.B. once with this setup. I like having Hardline on so you can reach specialist bonus at 7 kills instead of 8.

Also have a sniper setup that I use only on certain maps but sniping isn't my favorite way to play.

I only snipe on outpost when it is TDM. I would like to learn how to quick scope. Those bastards piss me off.

I can quick scope a bit but not real good at it. I like to snipe on Mission mostly. But for the most part I don't snipe.. haha

So you get the MOAB with 25 kills with the specialist strike package? I have only seen the MOAB once and it was dropped on my head Is it 25 kills without a death or just 25 kills?

25 kills without dying but ONLY using weapons which is why using Specialist is easier to do it with. Helicopters, Bombers, etc etc don't count towards it.

So basically its 25 gun kills without dying. (24 if you have Hardline on).
