[Spam] No SPAM, How I Do It (7 months)

Have received no SPAM for more than 7 consecutive months.

Here's how I do it.

DNS 1) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines without an IP address reverse pointer (PTR) DNS record.
DNS 2) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines without an IP address to name DNS record.
DNS 3) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines without a name to IP address DNS record.
DNS 4) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines without matching IP address to name and name to IP address DNS records.

DB 1) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines listed in SPAMHAUS ZEN database.
DB 2) Post office does not accept messages from domains listed in SPAMHAUS RHSBL database.
DB 3) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines listed in SORBS databases.
DB 4) Post office does not accept SMTP connections from machines listed in SPAM COP database.

FW 1) Post office automatically adds rejected machines to network firewall drop rule for a number months.

SPF 1) Post office does not accept mail from domains without an SPF record (unless whitelisted).
SPF 2) Post office does not accept mail from non SPF pass sources.

But, the big question is how much legitimate e-mail have you also not received.
I'm a big fan of restrictive filtering, but I still get spam from servers that would fail your tests (Yahoo, G-Mail, etc), and every now and then a legitimate e-mail gets tossed (I never reject, just redirect to a review folder).

Honestly with the amount of spam I get due to my domain I might as well not get any email anymore.

I've been thinking of how to tighten stuff up on my server that runs my domain, just been to busy to do it (busy deleting spam, lol).

I ended up transferring the mail part of my domain to google apps and using the gmail spam filters.

I get about 1 spam email a month now in my inbox.

Require senders who want you to read their email to include a designated keyword, then filter.
